'17 TN ATH Jacoby Stevens (LSU commit)

Thanks De1.Kinds what I saw the couple of times I watched him play last year.Kid plays hard and is always around the ball.I really like this kid.On the Bowers deal. What is wrong with him.I've had multiple hs coaches tell me he is an absolute ass.One told me he makes the college recruiters make appointments to speak with him. That's crazy.

Bowers is a total douche bag. I'll put it this way. Remember Tavares Jefferson and Orleans Darkwa? Well we had to step in at the last minute and help both of these guys who were known to national recruiters abroad. Well Bowers wouldn't release tape on the kids until the season was over and then wouldn't speak to coaches because he was busy so to say. I liken Ensworth to a plantation and they use you up until there's nothing left and then it's fork the athlete. If Cirn Elder, another casulty, had to take a partial scholarship to Miami and that was his best offer ppl should see a problem and pattern. I wouldn't send a cockroach from my woods out back of my house to that school. Tiny is another case, only thing saved him is he was a NPA kid. Once football was over then it was nothing Ensworth could do to help him. Please that place really pisses me off.

Good kid attacks the ball at its highest point with athleticism and agression at Wr has good speed and size. Also at S he is a major asset because due to length and speed he can cover a lot of ground. He also will come down in the box and knock your head off. On the Ensworth stuff he was being dorced into a position of no benefits to the kid and absolutely hated it. Bowers had him playing DE/OLB and it was not to the benefits for the future of the kid. Glad we could help find a solution to help the kid and his parents that made them happy.

I saw something about Oakland moving to a Wing T this year. That probably sucks for him

This kid was easily the 3rd most talented player on the field in the Blackman/Oakland game last year on ESPN. Considering the other two, I feel that's high praise.

Major talent, glad Butch has plenty of time here.

Yeah, he really stood out. I was focusing on Jennings and Jones of course, but Stevens was making a lot of plays. Impressive athlete who seems to make an impact no matter where he is on the field. Hope we can land him.

JaCoby and Jennings seemed to be talking trash to each other the whole game. At one point, Jennings was put at CB to lock down JaCoby. That was a great battle to watch.

The kid that played OLB for Blackman is a good looking prospect also.I think they said he is only a sophmore and is already 6.2 220 and runs well.

Yeah my friend that is the SC at Baylor told me he's has college recruiters ask him what's up with Bowers.Sounds like Bowers is in it for Bowers and not the kids.

Ochoa, IIRC.

Definitely stood out as well, likely MTSU caliber. Vandy may have an outside shot LOL.

Yes its all about Bowers and this is the reason very few kids are flocking to Ensworth now a day. Just had a kid with at least mid major talent this past year and we had to scrounge and get him a scholly to Tn Tech. I promise once football is over those folks on hwy 100 could care less about the kids.

De1, I still think there are a lot of kids going to Ensworth from Murfreesboro. Are BA and MBA stepping up?

yes they are stepping up. The talented kids are going elsewhere. This is the very reason they have had a major talent drop off and MBA and BA along with various other private school programs are looking a lot better.

IIRC he is from LA and is a relatively recent transplant to TN. Lots of ties still to LA. They may have the early advantage, but Butch has lots of time to work. Hopefully he can get it done.

His family is from LA, but he was born here. He was leaning towards UT for awhile, but something happened during his recruiting that he didn't like and has pretty much shut UT out now. One of our coaches told his coach at Oakland that we wanted him to play a hybrid linebacker position, but everytime we have talked to him we are wanting him to play WR. He felt like we weren't being honest with him and it has left a bad taste in his mouth. He wont even answer our coaches calls now.

Sounds like someone with an attitude that we won't miss at all.

Kid is not an attitude kid at all. 2nd he hasnot shut UT out. He'll likely be down unofficially for Oklahoma gm. He's a versatile kid so the coaches are really saying he can play either/or. At NPA we teach our kids to never shut a door in recruiting because you never know what could happen and you need help from the ppl behind that door.

idk I've seen him get kicked out of at least two basketball games haha. It'd be awesome to get him though

I agree with you i just feel hes got UT a little ways down his list if you ask me.

There's a difference b/w being a kid with an attitude and a kid who plays with an edge and intensity. No football program wins with choir boys.
