'17 TN ATH Jacoby Stevens (LSU commit)

My experience has been that all fan bases have a percentage of fans that appreciate factual information on teams they will play during the season. I know I do. Some of the comments made in this thread regarding Mecole and Stevens are not based in fact. For instance, Mecole didn't practice in the spring because he's not on campus yet, and Stevens is being recruited as a safety. My comments about McGraw and Harris are a reference to surveys taken of recruits which asks them what factors are most important to them when choosing a school. "Playing Time" is always towards the top.

My bad on the Mecole practicing in the spring thing. I thought he was an early enrollee. It was actually an article or something I read that said he was upset because he had been told he would start out at DB only or something like that. My bad.

Not a big deal to me. I just thought some fans would want to know what the real situation was. My post wasn't meant to zing you or be critical.

My understanding of the Stevens announcement yesterday is that he basically replaced Florida, Oklahoma, and USC with Alabama, Auburn, and Clemson; while leaving Georgia, Tennessee, FSU, and LSU in his current top 7. Adding Bama, Auburn and Clemson; means to me that Steven's recruitment is shaping up to be a typical battle for an elite prospect who lives in the south. Tennessee is the home state school, Bama is Bama, he has family in Louisiana and was once committed to them, FSU always seems to get their share of elite DBs, and Clemson seems to be one of the hotter programs right now.

I was wondering how Mecole practiced at UGA this past Spring yet was outrun in the 100M by Bembry just a few weeks ago. Maybe there was a rule he could come back to compete in HS track :)?

He's so much slower he crossed the finish line after he went to UGA

He probably didn't have room to run in Georgia's indoor practice field.

they are from other states and just happen to live here. not many of them are life long UT fans

I think its hard for any 17 year old to be a life long fan of anything. Especially UT football and your earliest memories are of Fulmer on his way out or Kiffin/Dooley. :thud:

Went to my first Braves game in 69 as a three year old when they clinched the division against the Reds. Do not remember that day but was and have been a fan ever since including the first game I do remember when Willie McCovey hit his 500th homer and I was there with my dad.

I sat in my seat and was thinking everyone was crazy clapping for this dude. Then my dad told me what happened. He is gone but I can attest that even at 17, I had been a life long Braves fan.

It was mentioned that Richardson was way down the running back recruiting board. The staff really did not recruit him all that hard. He admitted at one point that the staff had not been in touch for several months.

Oh I know. I was just answering the question lol
