Can someone give me the short version of why this young man has never been interested in playing for his home state school? Acc to 247, he's even looking at UGA and FSU along with Alabama and LSU.

I think LSU has always had the momentum and his heart. Hope he chooses the best place for him. He is a GREAT player. The very best Safety I've ever seen in person at the high school level. From all accounts he is a great kid. I will not bash him for his decision. Wish him nothing but the best.... Unless he picks UGA.

I see posters do the ridiculous "didn't want him anyway" thing all the time, but I haven't really seen that in relation to Stevens or Higgins-- at least when it comes to their talent level. Both of those guys are top tier talents.

If anyone actually thinks Butch cooled on Stevens or didnt want him or Higgins, then they are delusional as hell.

Just like Butch has hopefully learned from the OK and FL game not to take his foot off the accelerator and go full tilt until the whistle blows, I hope he is learning from this year's disappointing mass exit of instate players that there's no sure thing, and 'ish can go sideways, so have a backup plan.... I am sure he and the staff are working hard on next year's instate talent....

BTW, yesterday on the treadmill in the hotel, and ESPN was doing some college football piece and interviewed D Watson from Clemson.... really good kid, he will go far in life, seems like he has his act together.... BUT, if I see clips of Dabo doing his version of any form of dabbing, nay-nay, or any other dance, I'm gonna puke....almost fell off the back end of the treadmill... that dude is one awkward man... you watch him and his body language and he just looks insecure as hell... how can recruits/families/players not see that insecurity and fake demeanor he puts out? He reminds me of that insecure kid in high school that latched on to the cool kids as a sidekick and did and said whatever they wanted to hear....

There were a few things in his visit that caused concern. It was the approach they took and what they showed him. Also there was an issue with whether or not they'd switch him to Lb. All in all UT did a great job trying to recover and made up ground to get back in the thick of things. The kid wants to be an all world S and play like Ed Reed or Ronnie Lott, the things they showed were of him being in the box all the time as an extra Lb kind of like OK used Striker. It's nothing personal at all just a little difference in opinions or defensive philosophy. It could work out in a switch later but I cna't say that for sure. If they win like they're supposed to, it will definitely make him think. A lot of kids still doubt UT from a coaching/ winning perspective. As the old saying goes proof is in the pudding so lets just strap up and get ready for some football in a few weeks. GBO
