with both Coach Stripling and Coach Shoop (on Monday), actually, Reitmaier said. We talk pretty much every day over (Twitter direct message) and call at least once a week. They just talk to me about how much they want me and need me up there, and they want to make sure I can get back up and keep in contact with them. I also try to talk to Coach Jones on the phone once a week. He also likes me to give him a call once a week. They all want me to just call and talk to them every week.
The Vols have continued to stress to Reitmaier, he said, that theyre short on depth at defensive tackle.
They keep telling me that theyre kind of thin in that area right now, and this has to be a big class for them, he said. Theyd like to start it off with me. Its a big defensive-tackle class for them.
We basically had Reitmeir in the bag. We were heavily recruiting him. We were making a big push for Rogers. He just never was interested.
Good. Better than Georgia.
I'd prefer LSU seeing as though we don't play them every year.
Ehh no.
We got Gray, Fant, Bumphus, and Jackson so far.
Gonna get Trey Smith and Ty Chandler.
Yeahhh...really getting smoked.

This quote clearly shows we really wanted him.
It's tough to know for sure who we missed on and who the staff passed on. If a kid commits elsewhere who isn't a 5* most swear we passed. Some say the recruit was never coming here so it isn't a miss. I disagree. It's the coaches job to secure the talent. LOTS of kids in June were not going where they signed on NSD. If you offer and don't secure the signature, it's a miss. JMO
Meh. '17 instate was hyped on here by several, and we have missed on the really elite guys so far. Gray is a nice athlete, but it's been underwhelming atp.Spin it how you want, and the other two aren't locks
But I think it's really more of a theme in general right now, as we need to prove it on the field.
There were a few things in his visit that caused concern. It was the approach they took and what they showed him. Also there was an issue with whether or not they'd switch him to Lb. All in all UT did a great job trying to recover and made up ground to get back in the thick of things. The kid wants to be an all world S and play like Ed Reed or Ronnie Lott, the things they showed were of him being in the box all the time as an extra Lb kind of like OK used Striker. It's nothing personal at all just a little difference in opinions or defensive philosophy. It could work out in a switch later but I cna't say that for sure. If they win like they're supposed to, it will definitely make him think. A lot of kids still doubt UT from a coaching/ winning perspective. As the old saying goes proof is in the pudding so lets just strap up and get ready for some football in a few weeks. GBO
Missing on Higgins kinda SUCKS..... Biggest miss for us this class.
Wow. Got smoked in TN this year
Are you young Montrell? I do not get how you can hate Georgia more than Alabama!
I figured sanddune must be young too, to just say prefer since we do not play them every year rather than the pure hate I have for them.
I literally quit wearing anything burgundy! I did not use to think about that, but I got so sick and tired of seeing Nick Saban and Alabama on tv I could not take it any more.
We play bama every year so correct me if I'm wrong but a loos to them is still a 'conference' loss, right?
I agree. I need to see it to believe it as wellAt this point, there is no question about it. Not just in-state but pretty much overall as well. The in-state perception will surely change if they can land Trey Smith and Ty Chandler. That IMO, would give them 5 of the Top 10 guys in the state. But I have to see it to believe it.
Now granted, I don't think Rogers was a big deal at all like some do. You can find a small 5'7 / 5'8 WR with a skill set like that literally anywhere.
