'17 TN ATH Jacoby Stevens (LSU commit)

No its not. Its a numbers game, and always will be. H ow many do you think we should offer... 40-50? :eek:lol:

Hmm. I think I could probably land a very strong class while extending maybe 140-150 offers. Once I had a few years on the job, probably closer to 100.

Lots of folks spout off about our staff evaluations. How many kids with the window dressing Vols "offer" end up at schools like ECU, Temple, Memphis, or whatever? Lots of them. Where was the eval on those offers?

Yeah, lots of garbage offers IMO is part of the problem.

When trashing one of our three stars, he uses - the offers may not be committable from those other schools.
Acknowledging that Alabama, LSU excetera, do the same.
Yet when we do it, it's a reason for failure in recruiting. Maybe someone should let Alabama know that it doesn't work.
One of the reasons they always suffer I'm sure.

Of course it is, but with the division alignment the UGA game is much bigger. A loss to them and you are in a 2 game hole in the division because of the head to head tie-breaker. Plus we recruit in their state far more than we recruit the state of Alabama. Georgia is a much bigger rival now.

Agree especially as far as recruiting goes.

I got ya.. I wasn't considering all the angles..

Really don't know. If I had to guess it's LSU.

You were absolutely right about Bama trending for awhile. Recruiting changes by the minute. My apologies if I came across as rude.

No problem man :hi:

I just know people around Nashville but I will say this one has changed with the wind. Honestly, I think it may change again before signing day at least once, this is a strange one to follow.

Good stuff. Was the concern that the "box" stuff was going to be him playing LB or would it have been him in the box still as a safety? Just not sure how being in the box a lot would be a bad thing if he wants to be another Ed Reed or Ronnie Lott. Those were two of the most physical safeties against the run that I've ever seen play the game.

Jacoby though he loves contact wants to make plays on the ball. Playing in the box eliminates showing off his spoed and ball skills. Ed Reed wasn't a box guy and lot was physical against Wrs. He rellay doesn't want to be a primary box safety. Both guys could play the nickel likewise.

Meh. '17 instate was hyped on here by several, and we have missed on the really elite guys so far. Gray is a nice athlete, but it's been underwhelming atp.Spin it how you want, and the other two aren't locks

But I think it's really more of a theme in general right now, as we need to prove it on the field.

Great post

We basically had Reitmeir in the bag. We were heavily recruiting him. We were making a big push for Rogers. He just never was interested.

He was not a take at the point in which he tried to commit. He was told they wanted him to play OL as I suspected. Rutger got whooped at the NC camp and was avg at UT camp. So he was not a loss nor elite as I had been saying a long time ago.

That's really the only guy we'll miss. Stevens is not an impact player. Rogers is replaceable. Slot receivers are a dime a dozen. Richardson was never in our plans. And all the other guys are irrelevant.

We gotta find a way back in with Higgins. He's the guy we can't replace. Though Holloman would be a decent consolation.

Maybe the dumbest statement I have ever read on Volnation and that is saying something.

I understand his statement is very likely to turn out to be incorrect. But......whew.....if you think that's the dumbest thing you have read on here then that must have been about the 3rd post you have read.
