'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

It's the final issue, and it is very much so related to Tee's situation.

No it's not. According to the article, the Tennessee player was promoting his own business. He was trying to gain. We don't know if Tee gets anything for this and it's certainly not his own business he is promoting.

Thank you. Now I found the rule in full context. I don't think that Tee has violated the spirit of the rule. If we're going to apply letter of the law, everybody who says to a friend "I like McDonald's" is in violation. I highly doubt Tee gets more than a slap on the wrist for this.

There is a gulf of difference between telling a friend that you like McDonald's and posting on your social media account that "I *insert name* like McDonald's, click on the link to get discounts."

Yes. Yes it is related. I'm trying to figure out which part you aren't comprehending, but I'll lay out why it's the same for you.

-Using social media account linked to student athlete to promote business (This is the main violation just FYI)

The only dissimilar part is that the business Tee is promoting is actually directly related to his status as a student athlete (Jerseys with his name and number) as opposed to our student athlete that was only connected by social media.

I agree their composite sucks.

However, Our class was rated high on their own rankings because of the amount of guys we took compared to almost everyone else. Unlike Rivals, who only counts the top 20 signees, 247 counts every single signee so you are rewarded for quantity.

MH, this isn't strictly correct. I encourage you to go play with the class calculator on 247. When you add a player to our class, the point contribution of the rest of the players decreases. Similarly, when you remove a player, the other players point contribution increases. Large classes don't get a significant bump from having additional recruits. It isn't simple addition like Rivals.

Don't be ridiculous. He broke the rule TO THE LETTER! If that is his Twitter feed he is pushing a jersey with HIS NAME AND NUMBER and including the price and a link on where to buy it. I don't know how the NCAA enforced this stuff but that is about as cut and dried as it gets.

Trust me. It is his FB page.

This bump was the clickbait needed to lure one of the 'keeping it real' football forum posters that bash everything Tennessee and props up everything and everyone that takes a jab at the program. Generally, a twiglike millennial with a man ban, beard, flannel shirt, trail mix in a ziplock bag, and a $5 effeminate drink from Starbucks. Enjoy the ensuing sh1tshow.

Swing and a miss.

Only one topic here and it's NCAA rules

Maybe they tell him to pay back a few bucks, if he made any and they can prove it. Something tells me Clemson will go the Auburn route when it comes to defending their star players.

You may be right, but this makes you look hilariously insecure...

Pretty sure it's the millennials that can't handle anything but sunshine and roses.

I think this is one of those areas where schools that are willing to push the envelope are going to get an advantage. It seems like the legal system is ready to tell the NCAA that it's members cannot control the likenesses of their student athletes with just compensation.

From the information you have provided here and looking at the FB post it appears that he is in direct violation. You would think they would have the compliance coordinator give a hand out or speech to everyone laying out what you can not do before/after these media sessions take place.

Not really an accurate depiction. Their problem is with anyone who uses logic, facts, and reality. Another common trait is they play silly games of devil's advocate to make themselves feel intelligent to hide their insecurity of not belonging in adult conversations.

I hope it's a violation and I hope the NCAA investigates and I hope they get the death penalty and I hope the school burns to the ground and I hope Dabo rues the day he ever considered signing a player from Tennessee and I hope all the obnoxious Clemson fans that live around me all retreat back under the rock from which they emerged.
