I think listen to people on volnation and forming your opinion on what an 18 year old is going to do is dumb. At least I have linked an article where the kid said he grow up an Alabama fan.

Tee Higgins grew up a UT fan. He's going to Clemson.

I still need a good laugh from time to time. I'm nervous about this one. I think he chooses us, but I'm nervous. The same goes for most who think he chooses us. You on the other hand seem to show up in every thread discussing Smith, and tell everyone with complete certainty that he won't be picking us. Let me give you some facts. Tell me if any of them are wrong. We have been considered the favorite for months. His sister is employed by the University of Tennessee. We had the last official visit. We had the last visit in Jackson. Our insiders are optimistic. No one else's insiders are and a lot are predicting Tennessee. Is any of that untrue? Okay. So if you say there is no chance he chooses us, you are either Trey Smith or a moron.

- His sister is a UT grad
- His sister works for the AD
- He lives in Jackson, TN
- He lives in an area that has a majority of Vols fans
- Butch Jones is a great recruiter
- Bama is not going to "outpay" us because UT has just as much to offer as Alabama does, except for all of the wins the last 8 years.

You seem to be doing the very thing that you called dumb- forming an opinion about an 18 year old. That's what people do in this thread. You are just so against what is happening with our program that your emotions are clouding your judgment.

Most certainly the one given by his outstanding senior QB was.

This is all everyone needs to know. You are hung up on the past and can't stay on the train with Butch as coach. Go root for someone else if you wish. We are still UT, and we will still recruit great players and play football.

And going off memory alone (could be wrong) I don't think he has a good track record of pulling top recruits from Alabama or Ohio St.

There are several tweets from UT players and comments from recruiting experts that indicate he is coming to Tennessee, but nothing is sure until he says so. Still, weighing that against an article from the past where he says he liked Alabama growing up, what kind of person would insist over and over that he is going to Alabama with no other info? Besides a troll, I mean.

No thanks, Ill gladly stick with the team I have been with my whole life. But yes, I'm off the Butch train. I appreciate the things he has done, but he lacks the coaching ability to get Tennessee on par with expectations. His teams consistently look poorly coached. If you have followed be at all on here, you might know it took me a lot longer than others. Just a few weeks ago I was being bashed for still supporting CBJ.

no, you have been fooled into thinking I'm not a real fan because by opinion of what an 18 year old kid is going to do is different what "real fans" think he is going to do.

Its EVERYONES best guess as to what he is going to do. Recruiting analyst don't have a clue what the guy is going to do. He hasn't told them jack to form their opinions. There is lots of logic behind my opinion

1. He said during an all star game he grew up an Alabama fan.
2. Recruiting history of Alabama / Ohio St. vs Tennessee
3. Trajectory of the programs currently.
4. Lack of development of players at Tennessee
5. The willingness of Alabama to outbid an team of a recruit they want.

Call me what you want and have any opinion of me you want. I really don't care. I have been a vols fan since I was old enough to know what football was. and I don't live in the comfortable hills of Knoxville where everyone is a vols fan. I live in Alabama. I hate every other team in the country except Navy and I hope every SEC team loses their bowl except the Music City Bowl. You will never find a post on here of me bashing a player, likewise you will find tons bashing me for sticking up for players. I want nothing more than for Tennessee to succeed.

You must have missed the others things I said in that same post indicating my opinion of why I think he choses Alabama over Tennessee.

Not too many head to head battles with Ohio State, but Guarantano and Hurd come to mind. As for Alabama, they wanted Hurd, Richmond, Warrior, Kongobo, Dormady, and others. Butch has beat Alabama multiple times for recruits, and he will again. I can tell we will just have to agree to disagree though. We'll see what happens in a few hours.

Why so inflammatory? Isn't that what trolls do..? Keep being inflammatory until someone responds then object to someone pointing that out, then start a flame war?

I won't see your response. Some trolls contribute from time to time. Others just get blocked.

The key word was resume. If Butch lands smith, curb stomps Nebraska and lands a top 10 class he will be on his way to resuming it.
still would need to see more on the field next fall but I'd say with those things he would be on pace.

Based on what he's done in the past doesn't he deserves a chance to take it to the next level. I'll admit that my confidence in Butch took a hit this year but that doesn't mean I'm ready to give up on him. You don't have to be 100% Butch or 100% fire the guy. There are shades of gray. He's not going anywhere so you may as well support YOUR team and hope he does turn things around.
