Jeez. I look away for a couple hours and this is what the thread turns into? I came back hoping for some insight from other Vols and instead and I see the thread hijacked just like every other thread.

Good grief. Bama fans posing as Vol fans arguing about why he is going to Bama. Really? How much more obvious does it have to be that he is going to TN? Bama and OSU sites have all but confirmed as much

Those things offer no more proof than simply saying "I want to believe he is choosing us". The kid grew up an Alabama fan, which counters pretty much everything on your list. My brother has done a lot of things, but that doesn't mean I'm doing them. Some people just want to believe so strongly that they abandon reality and assign talking points that support their believe, and not talking points that support what is actually likely to happen.

This kid may very well choose UT but I'm betting it's not because of any of those things you listed. It's going to be based on which program gets him to the NFL the fastest and with the most positive exposure (like not being constantly embarrassed).

How about he is extremely close to his sister since his mother passed away? That do anything for ya? I'll bet being a bama fan growing up trumps being close to the sister that you think very highly of. Jeez louise.

Or how about - he sees immediate playing time with the Vols over sitting on the bench for 2-3 years at Alabama? It's also been said that the culture at Alabama is more business like. Treating players like a commodity instead of a person. Maybe he likes the family atmosphere at Tennessee over that? There are many reasons he could pick the Vols over Alabama.

No im not certain he doesn't chose us, I just think dont think he will. It's the exact sams as your feeling just opposite direction, see how that works? No need to call me moron or question my fanhood. The difference is, I dont jump on you asking you to back up your nervousness and call you names, as people do to me.

Yeah, its a difficult situation. He has done alot and has great work ethic. The issue for me has become I hate to see so much talent wasted on from.what I see, is a poorly coached team. From my perspective, we wouldnt need a home run hire, but rather someone proven to coach solid basic fundamentals. If you watch Alabama and the Dallas Cowboys, they really dont do anything special they just do basic stuff really good. I think we have the talent to be a top team, we just dont have the coaching staff to get there. Ill root for CBJ to succeed and dont advocate for boycotting or other nonsense. I just think at this point we are delaying the inevitable.

On the other hand, a couple coaching staff changes and we could be okay. The issue for me there is, im okay with the Offense so I dont reallt know what changes to make. I think its more of allowing Shoop to control the D. We will see how it works. Although losing Dobbs, Kamara and Barnett will hurt, I dont think our talent level as a whole drops alot next year.
