'17 TN OL/DT Trey Smith (UT commit 12/6/2016)

Bartow's CB is probably following the other CB's. Anyone who has followed 247 any stretch of time knows that Bartow's CB's are far from accurate taken as a whole. Wiltfong is more a Midwest guy although he tends to be more accurate.

I don't know anything on the Ole Miss write, but I would pay more attention to what GV247, VQ, and the Bama sites.

As these guys change their CB predictions throughout the recruiting season, I'd suspect your percentages are of his "last" CB prediction and we're a long way from signing day ATM. I don't put any stock in CB predictions this far away from signing day myself. IMO, TIFWIW, AARP

Some Vol fans just can not let it go with a positive vibe, have to throw a little cold water.

The obvious hope here is that with the Ross situation, the CB from Bevan, and the CBs from Bartow and Wiltfong, is that Trey has informed both Ole Miss and UT of his intention to be a Vol.

Lord Jesus, if you could please...

and be with the starving pygmies in New Guinea.

RC on the OL numbers

"It's maybe not completely guaranteed that Tennessee will have room for a fourth OL in this class. The goal has always been 3-4, with four maybe being a bit more likely than three. If the Vols could land Eze, I'm sure they would take him. And if they do sign four, I think K'Rojhn Calbert and Jalen McKenzie both are guys they're still evaluating who could get offers in the coming months. They're certainly worth watching going into their senior seasons."

LOL! There are not numbers issues with Smith. Was that the point of your post? - if not please disregard. Smith would be our headliner at this point.

Did anyone give any quotes from his post visit interview from 247?

“I spent the night (with Robertson) and everything. … Our relationship’s probably built a lot better now, especially the second time around. Just getting to know him, he’s like a big brother, honestly. If I come here, I wouldn’t be worried about anything because I’ve got dudes like that. He’s someone to look up to and see how he did it. He obviously started his freshman year.”

“It’s almost, like, Biblical or spiritual — for me, at least,” he said. “I’ve always been, like, a kid coming to football games against Alabama. I saw the stadium. I was shocked. This place is gigantic. I always look at the press box and was just like, ‘That’s where the rich people are,’ you know? And then, one morning you wake up and just take the elevator up there, eat there like nothing’s happening with Coach Jones.

“It was just like — I haven’t arrived. But, jeez, if I come here, let’s get it.”

So if we take Moore's commitment we've got Tucker, Locklear, and Moore going into August.

If McKenzie is healthy and Calbert progresses, we may drop everyone and sign Smith, Eze, McKenzie, and Calvert.

Sounds about right. LOL

I think we are going to be extremely picky at OL now. I don't think they will take Moore now. I think Smith's visit went very very well

I think ultimately Tennessee is where Smith ends up based on the Intel today. Another college coach this AM projected Tennessee to Smith. Some people close to Smith are high on the Vols too.

He's better than depth. He's the recruit to finish this class around as well as momentum building future classes. He'll be a baller here.

I agree. I think we should commit to Smith as well. Although, I would like to know how much those bagmen would be willing to pay us. I need those tacos.

I think Moore and Eze are takes, and send Tucker on his way.

I know how it looks, but we're gonna end up doing it, it's inevitable.

Good point, part of why I'm still going to be wary of them. I did see a fair amount of his CBs come a week- 2 wks before a guy committed during the season, as opposed to all the CBs I see from other analysts that come literally an hour before the announcement.

I like it. Kid is top notch depth coming in if we get him.

He will push for a spot. He can play anywhere on the line so seeing him come in and play guard some early and then move to tackle isn't out of the question. Butch is pushing hard here and we are trending nicely. Reel him in!!!
