...“Now if I do end up going to Tennessee and [my sister's] still there, it would be good to have her close by. She’s done a good job of stepping into that role for me since our mom died. When I’m on a visit or going somewhere big, she’s texting me. ‘What are you wearing? Send me a pic. Don’t wear that shirt.’ Stuff like that.”

...“My parents taught me to be a good person and trust in God and to always work hard,” Smith said. “I know a lot of people think I have a lot of potential in football, and that’s great.

“But at the same time, I haven’t really accomplished anything. And this year at USJ, this team hasn’t accomplished anything because we haven’t played a game yet. But I plan to work every day to do what I can to help us be successful this year. Going to the semifinals was fun last year, but going to the championship would be great. Then we’ll see what happens after that.”

Smith is sticking with his plan to go on visits with colleges who have offered him scholarships during the season and commit after the season is done before enrolling early in January to his school of choice.

Basically he's going to Tennessee but still wants to take all his visits. Can't say I really blame him since he only gets to enjoy the recruiting process once.

This kid's got quality written all over him. Not just athletically speaking either. I really hope he becomes a VFL.

Sister is like a motherly figure to him. IMO this is definitely ours to lose. Lots can happen but we are in the lead right now without out a doubt. (No **** sherlock, lol)

Give his sister more money and a better job sometime this year. I bet other schools qre trying to work up for her a better position and money package.

How can anyone not pull for this kid? Seems like a humble, quality kid. Wish him well, wherever he goes but this one is on lockdown. Already a VFL.

Everybody is happy when they are paid more. Common sense man. I like being paid more and it makes sense she prolly does too.

I like being paid more too, but at the end of the day location and quality of life are way more important to me. I wouldn't move from TN to go work in California for more money, but that's just me.

Not that big a difference from Bammer and TN though. I'm just saying, it couldn't hurt. Jesus just agree it wouldn't hurt. Who the hell are you arguing with. You just said you would like more money. You agree with my premise but you argue as if you just didn't agree with me.

You can't argue with mary's little brother or get close to his ear muffs.

If it didnt matter, calipari wouldnt hire kids dads as coaches. I'm just saying make sure she's here and not at Bammer.

I sure as hell wouldn't move to Alabama to make more money! :)

Well I don't really agree with you honestly. Being Vols fan, which I'm assuming she is, I know I wouldn't take a job at Bama for more money if I was making even decent money at UT. Maybe you would, but I wouldn't.

I would, especially if it was significant. You go from 50 to 75k which I am assuming she roughly makes, I'd drive back and forth to games.

$62,500 I believe is what somebody posted. No way I would do that. I'd need about tree fiddy for me to even consider that move.

Oh and btw, as stated above, I'm sure she's a Vols fan since that is her alma mater and all, so I'm sure she's hoping her brother will come play there. Even more incentive for her to stay at UT. I wouldn't worry too much about her taking a job somewhere else. Seriously.

I lived in Tennessee and job moved me to Alabama. I made sure I got back to Tennessee as quickly as possible and less money would've been fine. Got moved to Knoxville and so all was right with the world again.

So are you in Knoxville now? I thought you were in Atlanta.
