'17 TN OL/DT Trey Smith (UT commit 12/6/2016)

I really hope we get him.

I'd be floored if we did. With the unfolding of "the year of the Vol", what do we have to offer him other than playing time which, if he's nearly as good as advertised, he's gonna get no matter where he signs. We've watched the team implode over the last few weeks after being fortunate in 3 of the first 5 games to get a W. The OL has under performed in each and every game this year IMO. The position coach and now the head coach/OC are all under fire and being questioned. UT seems to be slipping back and doesn't look to be a contender anytime soon. There's discord in the locker room...or was. Has that all be rectified? Was is just Hurd or are there other issues boiling beneath the surface? You've got a head coach talking about chest bumps. You've got a staff that can't find a way to use Byrd through 8 games while your secondary is being torched regularly. The list goes on and on. Then there's Bama. Unless the kid bleeds orange and truly loves the place, there's simply no choice. If he really felt that strongly about UT, he'd have committed by now and ended things. Bama has a ton to offer that we simply cannot. You know he's going to play, win and be well developed there. Who can honestly say that about UT? This staff hasn't shown me the first inkling of being able to adjust and develop talent or game plans. No...I don't believe Smith will be a Vol. Would love it, but I just can't see him choosing UT.

Why would a good player come here? I dunno. Why would you be a fan of a team that is so screwed up? Seems you could do better.

When reading this post, I visualize a guy alone at the bar, drunk at noon, listening to sad music.

unless we win out and show folks the wheels haven't come off, we will be lucky to even hold onto what we have now... gimme a break and just be realistic...Maleik Gray was just quoted all but saying he is looking around because he wants to go somewhere and win and go to a place who puts kids in the league..
I've asked twice on the recruiting forum where we stand with these phantom 5 players folks were talking about who were supposedly high tier and interested and we were going to have to make room for them.... crickets... but that was before the SC game and Hurd bolting... Butch is going to have to make some huge changes in order to save this program from going backward...

With the last 3 losses and Hurd leaving, you can bet the farm other coaches are negative recruiting the heck out of us now. I doubt we finish in the top 15 recruiting class this year. I just hope next year, the coaches can come up with a blocking scheme to protect our QB.

We could be 7-0 and they would negative recruit us. Y'all need to quit borrowing trouble. I think these kids are a lot more resilient than the fans are.

7-0 is better for TN. Very very difficult to cruit against. Need to stop botching games and send men to the league

Looks like our bar regular has company.
