I don't know about y'all, but I'm very excited about the potential of 3 stars Tatum and Niehaus. As long as he has a high ceiling, there should be plenty of time to develop him. My concern is the ability to develop. Seems as though our OL should have been much better this year than it has been. Injuries have hampered them for sure, but still hasn't been what I expected.

I completely agree with the Tatum/Niehaus comment. I believe they both would have been ranked higher had they camped more and both weren't 6'6-6'7 and weighed only 260lbs in college. For an OT that is a SKINNY! I want to say that Niehaus only went to one camp, and just basically it seems like his name wasn't "advertised" very well.

Tatum on the other hand was in the top 500 players in the country and was dinged just because of his size. I believe he's up to 265lbs now. I could see him getting some more time in the Tennessee Tech game, but this off season will be great for both him and Niehaus from a stength and weight perspective.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but did I read that Ryan Johnson is getting some looks at center? I feel like that would make a ton of since him being a "smart" player, and that after next year we wont have anyone at center besides Jack Jones (and we need him at guard).

"Coach Jones and I had talked the night before and he talked about an offer happening possibly soon," Calbert said. "But, I got home (Wednesday) and I’m just sitting here and he asks me to call him and I thought, ‘We just talked last night, what else could he want to talk about?’ “We were talking and he told me that I have an offer to the University of Tennessee. When he said that my smile was from ear to ear. It was huge. I continued to smile when I got off the phone with him."

Calbert already has offers from South Carolina, Missouri, Florida, Louisville, Kentucky, Illinois, Memphis and several more but noted the Tennessee offer is special because of all the work that went in to this particular offer.

“This means a lot. It really does because I can say I’ve started from the bottom. I had my injuries my freshman and sophomore years," Calbert said. "That was probably the hardest time, and to be able to come back is astonishing and getting this offer is overwhelming. I can’t put it into words right now. “It means a lot. I’ve worked my butt off for it. Not to say the other offers don’t mean a lot and I didn’t work for those, but I worked my butt off for this one.”

“They’ve proven they know how to win ball games and they can stand toe-to-toe with anyone and the team gives their all and the fans do as well. That means a lot. It feels like a big family. I’ve gotten to know lot of the coaches and some of the players and I like them.”

“I don’t feel like I’m in a hurry. If I have to make a decision soon, then I will worry about it in the next two or three weeks. But, I think right now I will make a decision in December or early January," Calbert said. "It will be when I feel really comfortable about it and talk to everyone about it and pray to God about it and feel really content with my decision.”

It's Kay - Ron

This is correct. K-Ron.

I've gotten to know this kid the past 3 years because my son plays AAU basketball with him

GREAT kid. Nobody will ever tell you different

FREAKISHLY athletic for a guy his size

massive, massive, and very violent hands quick feet, ceiling that is higher than most doesn't even begin to understand how good he is

weight 285 although i was told it is higher like close to 300 but look at pictures of him. he doesn't look that big. Wildly underrated because of not play
was told he will be bumped to 4star after new ranks.

No guarantee its us as the Sc trip is legit interest. was just told they've made him priority #1 in their whole class. Florida pissed, Ms State pissed Mizzou pissed Louisville offered as a d line and was told that has him really interested.

kid will be a NFL'er in 5 years. Hes that gifted.

Some film for you.

I live in Warren county, and know K'Rojhn. He is an outstanding young man. I am hearing that he has Louisville, Memphis, South Carolina, and Tennesse in his top four. Also, I've been told he is waiting until signing day to commit, but I think things can change. I have a really strong feeling that tennessee is his top pick. He is a very level headed young man and I think he is taking his time to commit to put his self in the best situation to succeed. That being said, I hope this young man is a vol because he has a very strong work ethic and great character.

The other big recruiting news from this week is the Vols offering K'Rojhn Calbert. Calbert has wanted the Tennessee offer since this summer and even when he didn't get it after camping he remained interested and trusted the process. He showed in his senior film there is plenty of potential to be an SEC player and that's why the Vols made the offer.

It's hard not to think of Tennessee the team to beat right now with his two other favorites being South Carolina and Memphis.

One of the reasons a lot of people haven't heard about this kid before now, is that he has been injured on and off again over the last two years. I live in McMinnville and this kid has 4* talent all day long. The competition in our division is up and down. You face a good team one week and a poor team the next. With the right coaching this kid could hold his own and then some in the SEC.

I can tell you it's a matter of time with Calbert, which isn't much of a secret. The kid absolutely loves Tennessee and respects the homework we did. Extremely mature kid who understands the importance of a coaching staff wanting to vet everything before offering an instate kid who loves the Vols. Those are not the types of kids you recruit over, so nothing wrong with simply making sure. He is raw but so much upside.

Anyone else feel like the bolded part is him saying if the coaches told him he needed to commit soon that he would go ahead and pull the trigger?

I believe he'll commit as soon as he gets the go ahead but as long as we are in on Chuck Filiaga and Aaron Banks then I believe they make him wait, IMO Calbert is the fall back from them.

Yes and I also get the feeling he is being told to take his time. Appears to me to be a backup plan.
