'17 TN RB/CB Chase Hayden (Arkansas commit)

We need 2-3 talented RBs. Yeah, I think Chase could have helped fill that void. As an instate legacy, even more so. Kids a top 250 player on Rivals. Kids not a scrub folks.

No one thinks he's a scrub, most of us just don't act like we know better than the staff. You do. Constantly.

Sooner Butch calls me and asks how to shore up this instate recruiting the better. Lots of work to do.

Id rather he didnt. If it was up to you, we'd always be in the bottom of the conference because you seem to have very little interest in recruiting the best players, just making sure that no one's feelings get hurt.

I wouldn't have to worry about hurt feelings. I'd only take commitments from recruits I plan to sign. Simple way to avoid issues and negative situations in the media. You're right though. I'd do things a bit differently. #1 is instate. Then I'd venture to surrounding states to fill those spots I couldn't with TN kids. Would I take Hayden over Akers? No. Would I have taken Hayden over Coleman? Yes. Just depends on the recruit and situation. Chandler is still my #1 RB wise. Even over Akers.

I find it extremely refreshing we aren't just pursuing this kid Because he is a legacy. I felt we have done that before and it appears clear we have bigger fish to fry.

This news looks promising to me

Most of the legacies that Butch has pursued have been productive. I think Wharton would have helped some if he had been patient plus he helped with recruiting momentum. Jenkins was good for recruiting and battled injuries. Creamer didn't work out.

Butch has also passed on some including Harper and McCleskey. It looks like we still have a good relationship with JJ McCleskey because he is the connection with Labruzza.

where did Wharton go again? I wonder how he is doing?

C. Jumper doesn't fit into our defense but he started some games last year. I would think a top 247 player like chase could fit into our offense.
