'17 TN RB/CB Chase Hayden (Arkansas commit)

I left CFA out of my above post for two reasons. First, we're talking landing new recruits, and CFA is a sealed signee. Second, CFA; is a welcome addition to the Family. But up to now, he hasn't sweat a drop in the gym or on the field. Let's get him in, get him involved in the work/study routine; then we'll know more about CFA. He's a good looking back though.

Ok. But I mean, has Sparks had a snap in an actual game??

Sparks has no game experience at all. That's why I said "he'll be there too" when mentioning our present running backs.

My point is, folks seem to forget about CFA. You claim you left him out because he's not here yet but you include a walk on that will likely never take a meaningful snap. Seems inconsistent.

Listed among the top offensive performers at The Opening Chicago yesterday...

4. Chase Hayden, RB, Collierville (Tenn.) St. George's – This is just a smooth, complete running back. Hayden has good size, he was effortless as a pass catcher, clean and efficient in space, showed great feet. He just quietly gets the job done. Tennessee is the Crystal Ball favorite despite recent offers from Michigan, Florida and others.

And says we can offer immediate playing time to HS SR's who've never played a down in college while using as evidence an incoming FR who's never played a down in college. Playing time, may or may not be up for grabs in '17 depending on how JK and CFA progress.

Totally irrelevant to the subject BG but I drove thru clewiston Friday night on way to Pam beach. Dang man, the DQ was packed!

Not knocking on chase Hayden at all, but I don't see why people had a problem with Nathan Cottrell. Pretty similar tape

Cottrell had great straight line speed, Hayden appears to be shifter with great ball skills?

Ah I see. I definitely remember thinking he was just as much of a take as Joc Bruce. We all know how that one turned out.

All the touchdowns and yards amassed by his son, however, have not delivered what makes dad beam. That’s found in Chase’s work ethic, which even the notoriously hard-nosed Aaron Hayden said he didn’t glean until a later age.

“I was talking to J.J. McCleskey and I talked to Todd Kelly about this. I think the guys who have kids that play, they all have something in common, and they’re not overwhelmed by the moment and they understand the process,” Aaron Hayden explained.

“The results come from work. If I could say anything about Chase, he even has something I didn’t get till a later age because I had to do it because I had to change my environment. He’s like that, what you see now, he’s been like that since he was 7 years old. ‘Dad, let’s go run hills or jump rope.’ And I’ve been proud of him now because I don’t even have to go. He’ll be out here, I’ll pull up to pick up my other son and Chase is in the sandpit, jumping through the ropes and doing stuff I would want him to do. He doesn’t know this, but I’ll pull up sometimes and he doesn’t know I’m there and he’s doing it all."

Are we really sure that Chandler is the best back in the state? It seems the more that evaluators watch Haydens game, the more they like it.

Chase can be very similar to Kevin Faulk at LSU.

Remember how New England used him? Everywhere. Thats what Chase Hayden should be for us.

Slot
3rd down back
Kick coverage

He can really help our team. Hes not "underrated". Chandler is a more talented RB imo, but Hayden brings so much versatility and wirk ethic.

He can be leader for us in the future.

Chandler may not be 6'3 245 but he is the real deal. I have never watched someone dominate against top talent like he did last year. He played against the top talent in the state week in and week out and always came to play. I would take him all day everyday over Hayden and Richardson, not so sure about Akers.

Then he can replace Kamara...
