'17 TN RB Cordarrian Richardson (Clemson commit)

Butch gets blasted for cutting guys he took early late. This year, he may not be doing that and just waiting it out and he gets blasted for that. Same people always blasting something. At some point, they are not real fans and you are a weak person who keeps falling for it and petting the cute little thing that purrs before he changes and bites your finger off for no reason. No true UT fan trashes the program like the Cat that I have ever seen.

:eek:lol: I have never blasted Butch for cutting guys late. You take the best available, period.

You are, forgive those in denial right now

Facts are UT is in the best place talent wise in football than ever. Are being picked by many to win the east. Should be in Atlanta for the first time in years and may content for the playoffs. They those GOOD points and see if you can smile just a little. Or, just keep pissing in your cereal and drinking your own urine.

Edit: I should say in what seems like forever.

You are absolutely correct.

I'm not even convinced that we were pushing that hard for this kid. I think there are others they liked better. Not that they wouldn't have taken him, just they might have thought their resources were better spent elsewhere.

Neither Rogers or Richardson is a big loss... We do need Higgins though. If Higgins commits to Clemson then I will say they are 'killing' us but right now? Meh. Rogers is a dime a dozen WR. We wouldn't be batting an eye at him at all if he wasn't from Knoxville and a legacy.

Sounded like usual doom and gloom to me

BTW losing Richardson isn't a huge loss especially w Chandler and Akers in the mix. Memphis may as well be in a different state being so far from Knoxville.

Except for a very rare instance I don't think we should even expend any resources to recruit Memphis. Middle Tennessee, Atlanta, Carolinas, Virginia, Florida should be our main areas of concentration IMO. Just leave the hellhole that is Memphis alone unless you have that rare, very talented 4 or 5 star recruit who has a tie to the university or makes it known that he wants to play in Knoxville.

Again... read the last line. All I'm saying is Clemson is killing us in recruiting AT THIS POINT
Finally something legitimate that Catbone can harp on for the next 11 months! I'm sure we were all unaware of this fact before you brought it to our attention. Really appreciate what you bring to this forum Catbone. :snoring:

This is where I'm at as well. His previous comments seem to indicate that while we'd like to have him, we weren't exactly beating down his door. We are in on better backs so yeah, Clemson is obnoxious but I'll worry about this in November, not now.

I can only recall a few guys from Memphis actually making a difference for the Vols; The Cottams, C. Walker before his string of injuries and Dan Williams. Richmond looks like he'll be a good one. Other than that though I agree. It's usually pointless to try and recruit Memphis. Its kind of like trying to pull a highly rated kid out of Texas. You're always hopefuly but it's never realistic.

You're absolutely right and the public schools in Memphis don't even produce much SEC caliber football talent and when they do, the prospect often comes with academic eligibility concerns. Middle Tennessee has become a much more fertile recruiting ground.

Nope I'm done here. My points been made. Ready for spring practice :)

If by dawg you mean coonhound then sure

I know you are a Vol fan. Was just playing on the Hound being a dog and agreeing with Catbone.

Cat Clemson seems to be taking a few recruits we may want at this time. However, I would wait till NSD before saying it is a fact and we are done forever. I am going to enjoy this season and see how it plays out. Hope to be playing in Atlanta and not going to let a recruit or two this early may be cry like a baby and curl up with a tissue and candy. No way you can be really that pessimistic. If you are, then go get some therapy.

I've jumped 8 times. I have one life left.

Some joker just sold me dull razor blades. Never go to that convenience store again...not that I was intending to ever shop again.

Butch has plenty to sell. 5-7, 7-6, and 9-4 is good coaching. It's not potential at all. Let them go to Clemson and play in the ACC. UT will continue to play a great schedule and have a great atmosphere. We will be fine.

I say it should have been 7-6, 8-5, and a double digit win team last yr. Lost alot of close games due to coaching imo. If CBJ cant make it to ATL this season then he aint good enough to be the Vols leader. I expect greatness and I haven't seen it yet

Yeesh. Sorry to hear that Butchna. After they put me in the mental hospital in 08, Lexapro literally saved my life. Helluva drug

Yea I'm sure Butch is shaking in his boots right now. Higgins is Tennessee bound on NSD and it wouldn't surprise me if Richardson or Rogers flips somewhere else even if it's not UT. Tennessee is a championship team this year.

That last sentence is true. But what scares me will they be championship coached. Last yr could have been an sec east champ team and possible top 10 team if coached right in the big games

Why don't they sell anti-freeze in pill form?

Tee "Trust Issues" Martin's kid and a Memphis kid, not surprising if you've been around here long honestly. Stephens, Gray, Higgins, Chandler, Smith, Fant, etc are guys that would make all forgotten rather easily and would be considered bigger recruiting losses by Butch to me. Amari seems to want to carve his own path anyway or he'd be going to UT or USC.
