'17 TN RB Cordarrian Richardson (Clemson commit)

If you delay your decision:

Famous people come to your house.
ESPN makes you into a rock star.
You get to go on some nice trips and be treated like a king.
You become the center of attention in several communities.

Depending on your values, if you are good enough, there is a lot of upside to holding off on committing.

As others have said, most of these kids like being courted; they like the attention from schools and the recruiting services and the media; like the drama. Do some of them like it a little too much? No doubt. We'd all love to have 15 Guarantano's (sp) every year--do your research, make visits, make a decision that feels right and stick with it--but it doesn't happen too often.

Being recruited is fun. Not all are indecisive. Some just enjoy the process. I was never recruited in a sport, but I was recruited coming out of college by several companies. And it was fun going to all the dinners and parties trying to figure out where I wanted to be. Sure I had an idea early where I wanted to go but why make a decision early? I took my time till there was the deadline to make a decision.

I don't fault these kids for taking their time as well.

Please tell me you negotiated for a 27 inch Mac and a cherry wood desk.

Man how times have changed. McDonald's, Burger King, and Hardees now recruiting kids coming out of college to work the fry station. Craziness!

Larry who? Larry Fine? Butch interviewed Tee for a job and they mutually agreed it wasn't the right fit. Rift!

Larry, LWSVOL is one of the most if not the most respected insiders on here and VQ. If Larry says it you can usually take it to the bank.

He's also a pessimist. On VQ two weeks before NSD he thought Warrior was iffy and agreed with another poster that the rest of the close would likely be Calloway, Durr, Bailey and Moss.

He's going to have people thinking 8-4 is our ceiling by August.

Yes he is a little pessimistic. But he also said when he made that statement that he had been traveling and hadn't really talked to any one. That it was only his opinion.

I agree he's not as in touch with his recruiting info. I take what he says with a grade of slaw when it comes to recruiting. I think he's more in touch with the AD and coaches. JMO.

Calloway?

LWS is definitely a glass half empty kind of guy, especially when it comes to the overall potential of the program and fluid situations like coach searches and recruiting. He initially doubted the hiring of a Shoop level DC because of the money it would take. And as mentioned, his prognostications for the close of this past year's recruiting class were clearly at the lowest end of the realm of possibilities.

That said, when it comes to things behind the scenes like this he is always on point. And to be fair, he just said he didn't envision Martin ever being on Jones's staff due to some friction stemming from that initial interview. No actual animosity has ever been suggested between the two by anybody other than message board fans running away with things. Further, VFL34 says Tee is VFL so you can take that to the bank. I don't think he's going to go against Jones or the program unless facing them on the field or going head to head for a recruit.

And you've got to think that if Tee Martin is controlling Amari Rogers's recruitment to the point that he's telling him were to go and not to go, he would be going to USC.

I agree with everything you say but I could also see a scenario where he could be led to feel his dad was somehow disrespected by Butch whether true or not. Who knows what the kids going to do? It's all speculation at this point.

Larry has been around recruiting a lot longer than even I have. I remember back in the golden era, long before the General's Quarters he and Kevin Simon's dad used to bring some great info. He keeps spreadsheets of recruiting data from years past.
