Boise could've probably beaten us 7-8 of the last 10 years, being generous to us. Utah would beat the crap out of us this year. I guess a third team is arguable. Memphis has been pretty good the last few years. I still feel confident we would've beat them the last 2 years, even though they were better last year than this. This year we would've had a very tough game with the way Riley's playing and our defense played.

I'll never claim to be an expert at evaluating players, and I know it it highlights, but he hits receivers in stride and in position to make plays. That seemed to be a problem for Dobbs and hurt our YAC early on.

yep

hes extending plays, nice arm, accurate. Yeh i realize its a highlight tape but its to easy to see the skill. Moved to his left on one play and threw it about 55 yards right in stride. I like his game. You see him in the shotgun and under the center.

Great athlete too. Looks pretty fast and moves well

I'm sure he has developed some type of relationship with Riley. I'm curious what Riley would say about Tennessee and Coach Jones.

I think I remember hearing after he matured and cooled down a bit he regretted leaving.

RF still has some good friendships at TN, don't think there are hard feelings either way

RF would give anything to have a do over at Tennessee. Everything that happened was Riley's fault, I doubt he negatively recruited against us being that there are plenty articles out there of what actually went down when he left and quit football for a year.

Article up on VQ. This kid is struggling to reach a decision. He has to choose between strong relationships built at Memphis versus the opportunity to play on a big time stage. Final decision expected by Wednesday.

I'm sure we sold him on a totally open competition in the spring, even though he likely has close to a zero chance.

The question is where did RF advise him to go? It doesn't have to be negative recruiting to be effective.

Where are the big time juco qbs going this year? Aren't there usually a couple of high profile type guys each cycle?

I think the JUCO guys are thinking the same way Dormady and Jones are thinking. JG is looking like the guy for 2 to 4 years.

All this talk about RF when in reality he is UTs biggest asset in this recruitment. He asks RF "You had a successful season playing QB at Memphis but what would you give to be back at UT?" And RF would reply "I would give anything to go back in time and not mess up my opportunity at UT!" That is most relevant recruiting pitch.
