'17 VA DE Elijah Conliffe (Florida commit)

Lol. They don't print enough. We're thin on our DL. We really need him.

How in the hell are y'all "thin" on the DL? How do you blow 6 years of top ranked recruiting classes? Somebody not developing talent? How could that be? I mean according to the Nick slurpers on here, he is the god of developing all talent. If Bama is having depth trouble on the DL, somebody has effed up badly.

I provided complete information about Bama's DE depth chart a few weeks ago in this thread.

In all fairness to UEM, it does seem laughable that Bama should be desperate at ANY position given their recent recruiting run.

By the way, enjoy the run. They never last. Mediocrity is a debt we all pay. Nobody is immune. I'm sure you remember Bama in the 90's.

Your keyboard may be pregnant. It seems to be missing its period.

If GFW's guy is right and we finish with Ray and Conliffe, then this is probably one of the best DL hauls TN has seen. That would mean we have 1-2 guys to fill every spot we need in our front 4

1 technique: Crosby and possibly another one of the next few guys

3 technique: Bennett, Conliffe, probably Butler, maybe even Ray

DEs: Johnson, Bembry, and possibly Ray, Butler, and/or Bumphus

Even the lower ranked guys there are high upside guys and there are a lot of versatile guys there that would give us plenty of options depth wise. Of course the flip side is that if you sign 7-8 DL in a class you're sure to see a few transfer within a year or two.

But that also usually means you're keeping the guy who wins the competion. And it wouldn't surprise me if one or two of our 3* guys on ththe DL End up outperforming a lot of 4* and some 5* guys.

Thaxton in the mix there at DE, too.

Might some move to offense? Historically we have had some great oline players who were converted from dline. None recently though that I recall.

Wasn't Robertson recruited as a DL? I seem to recall he came in as DL and the coaches were amazed how quickly he picked up on being an OL.

It could have been someone else but I remember this scenario playing out with someone in the last few years..

He was but we moved him the first day of August practices

Dang! Y'all have a bus load of DLs.

Having bodies and Elite talent are two separate things.also if that case we shouldn't have been playing games with de at the tackle position the last 3 games. It may look like it on paper but it just appears that way
