'17 VA DE Elijah Conliffe (Florida commit)

With us having 2 WRs with grade issues I'm not sure we don't take both Conliffe and Ray if they both want in

"It is true that Tennessee tried Monday night to get an answer from Conliffe — I've referenced that in other posts — and I've been told that the Vols' decision to take Palmer on Tuesday might have been the result of Conliffe not giving them any kind of indication.
Now, that doesn't definitively mean Tennessee has passed on Conliffe or anything like that, or even that the Vols wouldn't take him if he wanted to commit to them next week. I still think there's a real chance they would take him. But depending on what happens with some other targets, that could mean that Tennessee would have a decision to make, or would have to part ways with someone, if Conliffe wants in over the next several days."

I sure hope we take both if they want in but it would have been nice if Conliffe had committed to the staff a couple days ago when they pushed.

My crazy prediction that I hope kinda comes true but that I want to be even better for us:

Ray - UT
Sterling - SC
Conliffe - UF

I feel like this late in the game you have to at least give a silent commitment. Hard for schools to pass up a sure thing for a maybe.

Watch this kid end up at Florida, now.

Cut ties with one of the receivers that's an academic liability. I love Murphy, but we know Conliffe can get in but we don't know if Murphy will. It's an easy decision for me.

This is a prime example of why it's ignorant to fill up with marginal players. We should be going all out on conliffe and ray and not having to worry about numbers.

What? Take a WR commitment in place of a DT that will not give you a commitment yet? Makes zero sense. Talk Payton into taking a blueshirt. WRs are a dime a dozen. Championships are won and lost in the trenches...talented HS DTs must be a take all day every day! The only way that I see this move making any sense is that Conliffe actually told them he is going elsewhere.

Same thing happened with Etienne. Were so worried about numbers had to pressure him and lost him.

Completely different situation with our RB situation. Plus, you had Clemson and LSU bearing down on him… The coaches needed to know where he was at with his decision, and it is clear based on his commitment.

BS. You have no idea about that. You don't think Clemson pressured him? why did he move up his commitment date?

Yes I think Clemson pressured him and got away with it. You really made my point. We aren't in the same position as Clemson or Bama. We need to save room to go after all these kids. Like I said oversigning to max every year isn't needed just to get bodies. Hell we are beating out WKU and Syracuse for kids now. That's awful.

So they can wait longer to choose the other schools right?
