If Murphy doesn't come, I expect the staff would go for Conliffe before Pouncey. That's just my personal opinion based on what I perceive our main needs are. Of course I don't know what has transpired between the staff and these recruits. I do feel good about our chances with Ray, it is not a easy pull for a instate Bama player but he is just as close or closer to Knoxville than Tuscaloosa and he seems to have serious interest in Tennessee and is keeping his decision close to the vest. That Saban moved up his visit and they have yet to be able to get a commitment out of him makes me cautiously optimistic the Ray is going to join Trey in Knoxville. Quicker playing time most likely at Tennessee also help Tennessee here I think. GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!

With the way this one has reportedly gone down if the staff pulls this one off it would be a huge win. Lots of credit if they get it done.

What's the confirmed number of recruits we can sign for 2017 now? I heard it was 27 initially. Then, somebody said it was up to 30.

Another person said through attrition we can go up to 32 which I don't believe at all. What's the exact number? Thanks!

You aren't going to find that number confirmed but my guess is 28 with 3 shirts

I don't know. Kristy* seems to be more informed about it than anyone. She thought we had room for one more than we have committed now and that we were probably saving it for Ray.

So, Kristy* is saying that number would be 29 since we're at 28 right now? If that's the case we sure aren't getting both Ray & Conliffe.

But, Bruin is saying 3 shirts(blue or gray) to use as well so we possibly could add Sterling and another WR too if we don't get Ray which my confidence in that happening is waning. I also thought Conliffe had moved on from us but that doesn't appear to be the case either. Thanks!

No, 28 or 29 including blue shirts, 25 or 26 LOIs.

We can take one more unless we drop someone.

Well, the NCAA rule is 25 per class. There is attrition that can affect that number but I still don't see how we would be at 26 LIO's.

It really turns into a mess trying to figure it all out. CBJ probably doesn't even know how it fully works. LOL! :p

Gotcha! Thanks! :good!:By the way, since we can only take one more without dropping one I definitely would want Ray but don't think it's going to happen so next in line for me would be Conliffe.

Hope he hasn't moved on because we could use another DL. Sterling would be 3rd in line but in recent days he seems to be leaning towards USCe.

That's a slippery LebVol slope you guys are dancing around on. Be careful, or the next thing you know you could be waking up next fall in a haze, wondering what month it is and why there are mathematical equations written on all your windows and mirrors.

25 plus blues and grays. Think we have spot for Ray and now concliffe if he wants in and drop one of the visiting WR's.

Kristy and I both keep up with it separately and believe we can back count one to last year. That is where the 26 comes in. We can blue shirt 3 guys who haven't had an in home visit.

edit: I think RockyTopinBiringham keeps up with it as well and agrees.

Ah, you know NSD is around the corner when the numbers gang is trying to figure out how many players we can sign. All I care about is landing Conliffe and Ray. Trim the fat to get there if need be.
