'17 VA DT/ATH Eric Crosby (UT signee)

I think after the season starts it will fade away, of course, that's assuming we have success...

It will likely be back in the news when AJ's and Williams' trials start this summer, but then should die back down again once the season starts. Of course, I suspect that the tv announcers will be sure to mention it at some point during every game UT plays.

I think VT having one of the top young coaches in the nation rebuilding their program in Crosby's backyard has more to do with him leaning in their direction than the lawsuit.

Crosby was a Vol lock just a few months ago, and the lawsuit was already filed and public knowledge. Fuente looks to be a force on the recruiting trail.

Worst broadcasters on TV, Gary and Verne, will mention it ad nauseam.

It's hard to get those tidewater kids out of VA. If Beamer was still there, we get this kid.

Not usually at the level that this guy is at. There have been a handful of highly ranked 757 kids end up at UVA in recent years but, for the most part, the really high level talent that have offers from anyone and everyone end up going out of state.

I do agree with your comment about Beamer though.

FSU has done very well in the 757 for the past couple years

And all signs point to them continuing to do so over the next few years. Looks like Laborn will end up there this year, they're probably considered the leaders in the clubhouse for Teradja Mitchell next year, and landing Levonta Taylor this last class was huge, in and of itself, but he also has a brother and cousin who look to be big time targets in a few years time.

I think it may be affecting recruiting a little bit, but not much. It isn't like our coaches don't have facts and statistics to show recruits and families to counter the lawsuit garbage.

I'm not afraid to say the sky is green, it still doesn't make me right.

There are literally hundreds of schools dealing with Title IX lawsuits. UT is not alone. Why do you think it is affecting our recruiting more so than say a Baylor or a FSU? Hell, FSU had an accused rapists as the starting QB, and it didn't hurt them one bit.

Ex-Po-Sure

There is plenty of exposure in TN I am sure. Not so much outside of TN. Nothing in the local newspapers here. Do a google search on University of Tennessee and the lawsuit does not even come up in the searches until the 3rd page. Do a Tennessee Volunteers search and nothing on the first page. You must remember that people have short attention spans.

I've seen a green sky before. The weather was not too friendly shortly after that.

Lol, fair enough. I was mostly just kidding Newt. I dont think the effects are significant, more just the seeds of doubt and it just so happens to line up with recruits starting to want to see tangible results as opposed to selling hope. Its still early, obviously...but I don't think this start is how anyone envisioned this class. We'll see what happens.

Yep you people live in a bubble and I just don't think negative recruiting has that great of an impact. I have not seen one shred of first hand evidence. Call me a skeptic if you will.

Very disappointing if he ends up at VT. P-Fort even said last night the coaches remained optimistic. I guess that changed in about 12 hours if you believe Basilio.

I still don't get all the Fuente hype. I guess we'll see.

Anybody able to win at Memphis should get some type of hype.

I wouldn't take anything that Basilio says at face value. I am not a subscriber on the Rivals site, but I would trust Fortenberry any day and twice on Sunday before I would trust Basilio.
