"The lawsuit is hurting our recruiting"......"No one has committed"....."Butch is forced to take lesser talented players".....

When will some of you ever learn?

Still affecting and has to be overcome. This time it was and if we win, we will get plenty. We go to Atlanta then we are top five regardless. Some we also waiting to see if we have really arrived. FWIW , I think we have.

It is hurting our recruiting. Besides Crosby and a couple of others, he has taken lesser talent

Still April. NSD isn't for another 10 months. Worrying about some perceived notion that the lawsuit is hurting our recruiting is unfounded and asinine.

This is true. We need to win the east.

Winning on the field is more about what is holding some of these kids up from pulling the trigger. Soon as Peyton's stalker went off the rails the national media didn't seem to care as much as to what was going on in Knoxville and moved on to a different story.

Not either unfounded or asinine. That is just your opinion. Waiting to see if CBJ can win the east or better is part of things too as well as more talent being ahead of guys so not as much early playing time. That is a good thing but to think none of this affects recruiting is naive. Call me an idiot and I don't care. Keep this on the good butts and boob shakes.

Hopefully, the lawsuit quietly disappears one way or another, but to think its not on the minds of some recruits or more importantly, their parents, is asinine.

I'm saying some recruits/parents, not all.

Well, one of which I'll put some stock into. Even then, Fortenberry hasn't made it out to be as dire of a situation as the hand wringers like to do on this board.
I don't think I've seen many people making a big deal of it. Its not killing us but it is hurting us to a degree.

You are probably right, but not about the ones that matter. I feel if a recruit and his parents really look at this situation for themselves, and not allow the media to cloud their perception, Butch will get the ones he wants. It might be from just a slightly reduced pool.

But some will moan about a couple of five stars who went elsewhere, and will blame the lawsuit.

All I can hope is this garbage can get cleared off soon. Tired of hearing it mentioned.

I swear it would be nice to just read a thread, especially after a big commitment, without it again getting derailed into negativity and a discourse on the lawsuit.

His mother knew the recruiting process would be overwhelming but she made sure her son enjoyed it. When he told her Tennessee, she was pleased. “He told me, ‘I fit here and it feels like home,’” she said. “I just want to be sure he fits in.”

Ocean Lakes coach Joe Jones - hired in February to replace Chris Scott - also was pleased for his new star player. Jones said Crosby was the first player he met before he was introduced as the school’s new coach. “They’re getting a fine person and a great athlete,” Jones said. “I’m so happy for him and proud of him.”

I love getting 4 star recruits. A side bonus is that the 3 star millionaire stays under his rock and out of the recruiting forum.

Well, you have about as much proof that it is affecting recruiting as I do that it isn't. So in my eyes, it's naive to make bold proclamations without having any evidence to back it up. You can post whatever you want and I'll continue to post what I choose to post. Doubt very seriously me laughing at all of the nailbiters in here is going to ruin anyone's good time. But continuous gloom and doom from the legions of the miserable sure doesn't help this thread. Carry on worrying about nothing, I'll celebrate.

From the VT 24/7 Board. OP claims to not be a VT fan.

Sounds like someone is upset.

Lulz.

After watching the HUDL I can see what he's saying, he isn't the fastest off the ball and he isn't blowing up the OL, but the dude's athleticism is Tuttle level and he's still manhandling guys who I assume are good competition given where he's from. Seems like he enjoys contact too.

I'll gladly put money on Strip turning this dude into a badass SEC lineman.

This commit *should* continue to be a lock for us. The home state favorite VT will not recover from Bristol in the fall and Butch Jones has kept his recruiting classes held together well through NSD.
