Virginia Beach (VA) four star defensive end Jordan Williams has stated that he has moved his decision timeframe forward.
Earlier this week, Williams cut his list to five schools with the plan to make his college decision on September 24th. The 6-foot 4.5-inch, 260-pound prospect now says he will make his college decision in "late July or early August."
Williams will decide between Clemson, Ohio State, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech, in alphabetical order.
Williams has not set any summer visits at this time but says he will attend the Virginia Tech satellite camp in Virginia Beach later this month.

Williams is ranked as the No. 269 overall prospect in the Nation and No. 17 weak-side defensive end in the 2017 recruiting cycle.

the 6-foot-1, 297-pound crosby said he “probably” will return to tennessee this summer — perhaps as early as next weekend. He said he has talked with top-100 defensive end jordan williams, a friend and fellow virginia beach standout, about making the trip to knoxville together.

“i think me and jordan are coming down for the orange carpet day,” crosby said.

"Jordan Williams said he won't be able to make it to the Orange Carpet weekend next week but is planning to be in Knoxville in July. He said in his mind he has it down to three schools and Tennessee is very much in the mix here. Clemson is as well, I'm not sure on the third one. But, I think Tennessee is in a nice spot here. Especially if he makes an early/mid August decision and he visits Tennessee in July, that could set up well."

Does anyone know why he is missing orange carpet day?

I hope we pull Jordan Williams. He probably has a higher ceiling than Eric Crosby and they're close friends, so it'd be great to get a DL package deal. I also like how Williams could end up at either DE or DT, and likely would take snaps at both the 5 and 3 technique, depending on down/distance/scheme.

It seemed that his leadership shifted to Clemson recently, however. I didn't think we'd get Zachary Carter from FL so I was hoping to see him pick Clemson in hopes that might sway Williams to us. Maybe we can beat Clemson head-to-head anyway.

Hopefully Crosby makes the trip w/ Williams when he visits in July. If that visit doesn't materialize than that would be very telling. I think it's Clemson or UT here, even though he's talked up VT. If VT was as strong a possibility as indicated, he'd probably wait to see how the new staff performs on the field this year.

Unless we turn the tide in July w/ his visit, I'd put a higher probability on Clemson here. Pure speculation on my part but that's how I read the tea leaves.

Clemson is absolutely killing it. We need them to lose some games whIle we live up to our expectations
