'18 CA CB Olaijah Griffin (USC signee)

Warren landed Dean at Tennessee. Pruitt didn’t want him at Bama. Very quick decommit when Pruitt was hired equals Pruitt didn’t lose Dean. I agree Warren is a good coach. Was disappointed in his recruiting.

Agree wasn’t saying we lost him just saying Florida is bringing in a good class cause someone said it was just meh

They have the newness factor this season. Long term, Mullen has never showed much in recruiting chops. Expect that to be the norm.

Yes! CB is all athleticism. Yes there’s technique and scheme involved but you have these coverages to learn. Press Man, off man(Distance and leverage in the system, and your leverage in the zones. There is no understanding the plays like safeties or linebacker. Get out there and get it or come off the field.
Obviously starting out on D would have been ideal, but will the fact that he spent time at WR help his development at db? I would think it can't hurt to have a better understanding of what the other guy is trying to do.

He was already a two way player. Always looked like a DB playing WR. Probably helps him some but he is a dominant DB. I hated the move from the start.

I’m not sure he’d be taking all these visits if he was a silent

I'm not sure he's a silent, but when I went through my recruiting process (not for football) I took all my official visits even though I was committed to the same school since 2nd semester sophomore year. My coach even encouraged me to take my visits and enjoy the process and experience.

Your last sentence got me fired up.

That attitude is what we’ve been missing in the HC and I believe we have that now.

Would be huge to have got him signed in the early period, but to get this caliber of player this late in the game is a huge win in itself. Let's hang on here.

From Day 2 Performance

CB Olaijah Griffin: The former UCLA commit certainly made a case for the top overall defensive back on Monday, nipping at (Trey) Dean’s heals. The California native had his own interception as well as pass breakups on the day. Griffin’s quickness and aggressive play gives receivers fits trying to shake free."
