UCF topped out at 6 wins?

What conference do they play in?

I'm not faulting CJP. He had very little time, and I'm sure next year will be different.

But the sunshine pumping for these lower rated 3 stars with weak offer lists is hilarious.

Next year, it won't be an issue

also hilarious to act like some of these kids wont be developed by this exceptional staff with a track record in developing guys. took a glance at their profile and now you know what kind of players they all are....nice.

i still think this is a steal and points to a trend of bigger faster players. LB and WR the norm is now 230 and 200 respectively, in the past if you were 190 for either sign me up.

Ask Scott Frost what he thinks of stars.

Wisconsin doesn't worry about stars either, and they had a very good season. But when they went up against Ohio State, a team who kills it in recruiting and loads up on 4 and 5 star players, Wisconsin got destroyed.

If Tennessee played in the AAC, then I wouldn't care about stars either.

But the reality is it has been proven time and time and time again that "stars" and recruit rankings matter.

Yeah In the AAC....

It’s been proven time and time again to compete at a high level you have to recruit at a high level. We’ll be alright though, this staff will get it done.

Ask Auburn what they think of the AAC.

My point is this, recruiting at a high level is important but coaching players up is more important. A group of 3 stars with a great coach is better than a group of 5 stars with a bad coach.

No doubt I agree with that, but the problem is 3-4 teams we play every year are full of 4 and 5 stars and great coaching

Auburn was a different animal away from their home stadium. Also they had injuries and otherwise looked mostly disinterested in that game.

But your point that quality coaching has a major impact is still true. It's lost on no one that Butch had very good classes but no one ever lived up to their potential, save for a couple. That said, we're in the SEC. There are a lot of quality coaches in this conference. UGA and Alabama are the cream of the crop, and they have quality coaches landing great recruiting classes.

We can talk up all the Auburn excuses in the world but fact is they got beat on a national stage by a team of 2 and 3 stars who were coached up.

Yes other teams in our conference are getting the blue chips and have great coaching staffs but us coaching up our players will give us more of a shot as opposed to good classes not getting developed.

To compete at a high level from the MFing skunk corner of the SEC basement, we need some stud ballers who will take coaching and play hard together as a team. We might have that, now. Show up for WV and beat them Then beat Scar, Mizzou, Kentucky, and Vandy like tom tom drums. Put one on Florida. Get some good shots in on the top three we play. The zebras will be with them, so we will probably lose even if we beat them, which is not likely. But show up and play strong and smart four quarters. Earn some darnit respect. Those four and five star boys will warm up to Tennessee better than they did this class. This is more than just possible. Enough good players are already there, if the coaching staff can get it together pdq in their first year. jmho .
