Pretty much nothing went JG's way last season in any game, yet the only game he supposedly acted with any immaturity was the opener against GT, and I suspect that if Butch had allowed his back up QBs to be more involved in the game, sending signals, holding clipboards, etc., rather than just sitting in the bench, he would have not have been left alone with his thoughts.
You may be right, but I didn't see any real evidence of it last season when there were plenty of opportunities in literally every single game for him to lose his shat. He actually seemed to do a good job of maintaining his composure in some very difficult situations. I don't question his mental toughness, just his ability to quickly process what he sees from the defense, which I am hoping Helton can correct.
I mean I wasnt happy about his laying down on the field after the South Carolina game.... But whatever, at least the kid had some passion compared to some of our players last year.
Could be coach prejudice making that call though instead of KC just being much better, I'm sorry but I don't trust these guys THAT much yet.

He had just played his heart out and saw victory be snatched away. That's not the reaction of someone spoiled, that is the reaction of someone who plays their heart out and left all he had on the field. There's disappointment in losing. No one likes to lose. How do you feel or react when something you've worked so hard for falls through? At the moment that you failed, it's devastating. It's not like he laid on the field kicking and screaming in a tantrum like he was two.
If its KC, does JG act like a baby again in Charlotte?
i think a lot depends on the OL play. If the OL is breaking down you are gonna need the big body that is Chryst.
these guys have their whole future, their familys futures at state here at Tennessee and they will put the best players at every position that gives us a chance to win the most games . If you want to Be The Man then they need to step up and beat the man . I dont think it has anything to do with any prejudice , just be the best one at your position and youll start .
if he was that fragile emotionally, mentally...that afraid of competition, he would have left when they signed Chryst.
i think this coaching change has been a very good thing for JG.
