'18 FL RB Jashaun Corbin (Texas A&M signee)

They blasted Butch for not beating UGA or UF. Now that he has done that, they will blast him for not beating Bama. Once he accomplishes that goal as well, they will find something else to complain about.

To be fair, there are games every season. Your post suggests he can now check off the gators, "mission accomplished". What more could a fan want than a win in the Butch tenure over Florida. 🤔

Exactly. Nobody gave the Vols a chance. Phil didn't even look that sure when he picked the Vols on the Gameday set. But I was responding to the person who said that Tennessee hasn't won any game that they were underdogs.

Funny thing is, Tennessee hasn't faced TOO many situations where they were underdogs the past two seasons. So, that is also a good indication that the program is heading in the right direction.

You guys are delusional or senile. The Vols were favored by more than a touchdown. Almost everyone picked Tennessee.

Something uplifting from the summer of 2016:

ESPN’s Football Power Index has added to the hype behind Tennessee football, as it projects the Volunteers to win every game on their 2016 schedule.

Okay, so this doesn’t translate to an above 50 percent chance that the Tennessee Vols will go undefeated. But according to ESPN’s Football Power Index, they are set to be the favorite in every game as of right now.

After placing the Vols at No. 5 in their preseason poll, the FPI formula now projects Tennessee football as a favorite in every game they play during 2016, yes even against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

They have a 59 percent chance of beating the Tide and a 79 percent chance of beating the Florida Gators. Their two toughest games are projected to be at the Georgia Bulldogs and at the Texas A&M Aggies, where they have approximately a 56 percent and 59 percent chance of winning respectively.

However, their overall projected record is 10-2. That’s because while they are projected to win each of those four games individually, the likelihood of them winning all four games is very slim.

It’s similar to Stephen Curry. If he’s shooting one jump-shot, it’s likely to go in. But the likelihood of him shooting 10 jump shots and all of them going in is much lower.

Still, all the math seems to fall into Tennessee’s favor, which is just another reason to increase the hype behind this football program for the 2016 season.

Between the ESPN FPI and the preseason polls that are coming out this week, Tennessee clearly has the highest expectations they have had in over a decade.

Now they have to do something with it.

My biggest complaint is blowing the SECe.

Me too. UT should not be losing to Vandy or that USCe team no matter how many injuries, but my point was that some of these people's complaints change from year to year or even month to month. No matter how many accomplishments Butch gets, they will always find something new to complain about.

I've seen it for years. I have an uncle that is the most pessimistic Tennessee fan I know. Complains about everything and nothing is ever good enough. Even in the 1998 season, I distinctly remember him complaining after the UAB and Arky games and was finding things to complain about in a perfect season. Those types will always find something to whine about. Sounds like a miserable way to be a fan to me.

It is odd that beating Florida as an 8 point favorite and getting smoked by Vandy has not subdued the doubters.

To be fair Sutton was out and DKjr was either limited or out.

Edit: I've been had. already said.

He's either supremely confident, hopelessly ignorant, or a lifelong Noles fan.

Best of luck to him. That's a super talented, and crowded backfield.

I'm shocked

He had the FSU offer before he committed to us. I wonder what changed. Maybe FSU wasn't ready to take him in January but after seeing him camp changed their minds? That would piss me off if it were me but I am also old and bitter. :finger3:

Good luck to Jashaun.... unless he plays them Vols. He can whoop up on UF all he wants though.

FSU is KILLING it in recruiting especially RBs. It sucks hard but at least it's not Florida or Uga etc...

I don't know why a RB would want to go there right now. They grabbed three 4*-5* last cycle and on the verge of at least two this cycle. Their staff has been killing the RB recruiting.

I don't know why anyone would look at the FSU RB situation and say "yeah I'll get a ton of playing time there"....I get perhaps getting an offer you've been waiting on but I can't see going somewhere to ride the bench for 3 years

The kid thinks he is good. We think he is good. The FSU staff obviously thinks he is good.

Stop with the "why would any kid go there" crap. Our situation is obviously better but apparently it either isn't as important to him as we would have hoped or he he sees the situation at FSU as a challenge he is ready to take on. Stop being butt hurt.

Isn't the whole point of a discussion board to "discuss"
