'18 FL RB Jashaun Corbin (Texas A&M signee)

Isn't the whole point of a discussion board to "discuss"

Discussing why you think he chose FSU over ourselves is different than suggesting that the kid is ignorant, has been misled, or implying that he isn't good enough for FSU.

What's funny is that we want him, are mad that he left, and then imply that he isn't good enough to play for three years at FSU. What a backhanded insult towards ourselves.

The kid thinks he is good. We think he is good. The FSU staff obviously thinks he is good.

Stop with the "why would any kid go there" crap. Our situation is obviously better but apparently it either isn't as important to him as we would have hoped or he he sees the situation at FSU as a challenge he is ready to take on. Stop being butt hurt.

No one is being butt hurt. A FL kid obviously wants to stay home and play at FSU; I don't begrudge him for that. The sentiment is more along the lines of "its amazing they can keep grabbing multiple studs per class without someone saying, no its too crowded for me." The statement was a general one and not specific to Corbin. It's refreshing to see guys who are willing to compete and/or bide their time, in the ever so commonr me-first mindset.

Lol, I was implying that our RB situation is much more inviting IMO to a player who may want playing time...

If we had two 5 star stud RBs coming in this year I don't think I would consider us a very attractive option either...that is the situation at FSU.

Maybe you need to read more closely or take the information others post at face value rather than bash them after you make insertions of your own judgement.

This post illustrates the beauty and ignorance of the VN that we all love and cling to...

No one has suggested he isn't good enough to play at FSU. But, we can point to a handful of other really, really talented backs that are good enough to play there as well, and already have enrolled it committed prior to Corbin. The decision, from a playing time standpoint, doesn't make a ton of sense, but it's his decision to make. Some of our fans are bitter, but no one is suggesting this kid isn't good enough to play at FSU.

that the State of TN continues to produce SEC talent. Also the reason that we need to secure Teague.

Hard to go into a state and get a player that the home state team covets. Especially in the South. Not saying it doesn't happen, but we lose many more of these battles than we win.

By "hopelessly ignorant", I meant in regards to knowledge of their current RB depth chart and commitment list. As in, he's so blinded by the name FSU that he hasn't given much thought to how many talented backs they have.

Corbin could be the best one of the bunch, but he'll be sharing that backfield because James Cook, the kid out of VA, and Akers aren't just going to sit. He has a much clearer path and less competition at Tennessee. That doesn't equate to he can't play at Tennessee. An enormous stretch on your part.

We'll see what happens if FSU finds itself in a numbers crunch. Do you think Corbin could potentially be a casualty? Butch & co. should keep recruiting him at some level until it's definitely over.

Unfortunately this is reality more likely than not....MOST not all but most 5 star guys, especially at the RB spot are the real deal and FSU has two of them....the odds are in their favor to have one become extremely successful, thus leaving a guy like Corbin likely to be running as a backup. We see guys transfer to smaller D1 schools all the time that are in his potential position...I am simply DISCUSSING the probability that our situation at RB is much more advantageous toward his ultimate success.

Who is butt hurt...perhaps discuss this as a possibility rather than damn anyone who see it as such.

Cook is out of Miami Central. The brother of Dalvin.

I saw that Jay Graham was trying to get him to aTm. He’s lost a lot of connections to FSU. Maybe there’s hope.

He decommitted from FSU on December 3. Obviously we didn’t care that much then. Looks like he was looking around even before Tully Blanchard headed to Texas. Thank goodness the staff is better at recruiting than we are!
