'18 FL WR Jacob Copeland (Florida signee)

It definitely throws a wrinkle in everything with how guys were able to silently sign with no announcement. We will have to watch who actually takes OVs.

smh Brandon Johnson have a higher ceiling than any wr on this roster. He only had 1 drop all year. Im not going to count the USC game because that throw came to him to late. Callaway is overrated he had one break out game and it was some games he went without a catch. How u have a true freshman starting over ur leading wr in the 2017 campaign?

It's not a good idea to judge players under a dysfunctional offensive system that Jones and Co. attempted to employ at UT this past season. Almost all the offense looked like high-schoolers,IMO. Therefore we can't judge what hasn't been developed as of yet.

Just got further confirmation that it looks likely that Charles Kelly will be joining Pruitt’s staff.

Went to his profile and noticed he's the primary recruiter for Copeland. Might help?

Brandon is a very good possession receiver, needs to be in the slot imo. Very good hands, runs good crisp routes.

But he doesn’t have the highest ceiling...that would be Callaway until further notice, until someone else shows otherwise. Callaway has explosive, playmaking ability that Brandon hasn’t shown. They can compliment each other well, can both be very productive WRs in different ways for the team.

While I would tend to agree, I still just want to see what all of our receivers look like with real development.

Copeland is a playmaker, which the Vols badly need at wide receiver. The Pensacola, Fla., native is a 4-star prospect and ranks as the No. 9 wide receiver in the country, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

He had very little interest in Tennessee before Pruitt came. Now, the Vols are in the thick of the race with Alabama.

Tennessee struggled to produce big plays last season from the wide receiver group. Marquez Callaway has some raw ability, but he needs to work on his route running. If Jauan Jennings is reinstated, he’ll provide another weapon. Brandon Johnson is a solid player but won’t break too many big plays in a season.

Copeland could come in and raise the ceiling of the offense.

Me, too. They can only get better, much better. Just commenting on what I observed of the two players last season. I think both can be very good, very productive, just in different ways. Callaway is a big play, explosive receiver, while Johnson is a solid possession guy....both have their pros and cons and neither has sniffed his potential.

I personally believe both can be NFL wide receivers.

Heading into January, the Vols have between 10-12 spots remaining in the class. It’s clear that OL and CB are the two biggest priorities, but an impact receiver and pass rusher are major needs, too — and Tennessee believes its in good-standing with two major targets right now. Wideout Jacob Copeland, a former UF commit with significant interest in Alabama, FSU and UF, and outside linebacker JJ Peterson, a former Alabama lean, continue to trend heavily toward Tennessee, per sources

The future addition of Charles Kelly to the staff should help Tennessee recruit several Southeast blue-chippers, starting with Copeland

I have believed and still believe this kid is going to Florida.

However, he loves the attention. He loves trolling.

And no one is truly going to know **** until they actually get his signature
