Well, I opened it only to discover that there's a young man named Horn who might want to be a Vol.

I don't frequent the recruiting forum, so didn't know of his existence before this.

4* DB...fairly well sought after....has offers from all the big boys....Bama was on him early, cooled off as of late....but he's high on our board, and would be a very good get.....

a month or so ago, he released a "top 2", and we weren't one of them. Butch and co, didn't relax on him, got him back on campus, and he pushed his commitment date so he could take more visits to Bama, TN, USCe....

now down to us and USCe....one of the good recruiting stories for Butch and co honestly. we werent even a consideration for him at one point. and not only did we get back in...it's now likely he winds up in Knoxville...but he has strong relationship with USCe coach that could be hard to overcome.

no problem. he's been one worth keeping up with...ultimately i think he wound up just not being "a take" for Bama...but Bama was holding a spot for him, pending the outcome of a couple other guys they had on their board.

as that stuff played out, it's worked to our benefit honestly. but i'd be lying if i didn't acknowledge that had Bama made him a priority, we might not be where we are right now.

doesn't take away what Butch was able to do though. they did good work here....and he could/should be a good one for us...assuming he pulls the trigger tonight that is.:thumbsup:

this class is looking really strong. still #1 in the conf, top 5 nationally. and if Horn comes on....we'll still have room for two more for sure. another O Linemen (Carvin), and DE/OLB (Jibunor)....hopefully.

if we land all three, and maybe, possibly get a kid like Adam Anderson on board...this is as solid a class as you'll find in the country...and should remain in the top 2-3 in the conf and top 7 or 8 in the country come signing day(s).

for the most part, the hay's in the barn on the 18 class. few spots left....

yeah, it worked out for us. a month or so ago, he wasn't coming here....getting him back on campus and getting him to push his date and take other visits....again, good work on our part.

if left unchecked, he'd be committed to Bama or USCe by now.

Not sure this is similar. Santos was all Vol until Texas came calling at the 11th hour. Only way this could end up similar is if Saban were to call Horn at 6PM EDT today and tell Horn that Bama has a spot for him.

Wow ! Just had the same thought right before I read your post. Bama being ranked way lower than normal causes me to expect some more 11th hour "flips". Fortunately UT has, of late, been on the recieving end of these flips. Not sure but may have read several months ago that J.Chatham,(DT commit), may have some influence on Horn coming to UT. It could just as easily have been Dean. I'll have to recheck that. Jaycee is the son of former NFL great reciever Joe Horn. GBO!!!!
