'18 GA DE Jamarcus Chatman (Former UT commit 6/25/17)

on that we agree, but that's the result of not really having legit answers at OLB....not because they're the best suited for the particular position.

imo, the ideal would be to have DK and DB at MLB rotating with each other, and fill in the other two spots with other players.

that probably isn't an option, so yeah, get Bituli and DK on the field together...that's the current best A Team on the roster. agreed.
Imo, keep DK at Mike, with Bituli getting work at sam and Mike, smith at Sam, Ignont backing up at Mike, Sapp if healthy and McDowell at will, then fill in with Berry and the young guys.

W-Sapp/McDowell
M-DK/Bituli/Ignont
S-Bituli/Smith

In a 4-2-5 the MLB is also the SLB so I think they're plenty fast enough for the outside

That's my thinking basically. In Nickel sets, the responsibilities of the 2 LBs are basically the same, so if DK and Bituli are your best two, why not put them out there together? The "position change" would basically just be on paper.

Of course, that's assuming those are our two best, which I admit isn't a sure thing.

Agreed. And maybe some Austin Smith as well, if they don't flip him for about a 10th time in the last 2 years between DE and SAM.

You mean second time in 3 years? Dude ate himself out of a LB spot. I'm not sure that's all on the coaches.

I just hope we don't see a repeat of a kid being bounced around like Smith has been with Ignot. Didn't they actually move Bituli too last year for a little while before moving him back to LB? I wish they'd make a decision and be decisive about it when it comes to this type of stuff.

I could be wrong here, but I'm 99% sure they never moved Bituli. At worst, he did some pass rushing drills with the DEs at one point or another. But I don't remember them moving him from LB (only fan speculation) and I've searched and couldn't find an article anywhere that mentioned him practicing as anything other than a LB.

Trust me he did not eat himself out of an LB spot. Dude is chiseled. Coaches just haven't been able to make up their minds on him IMO

I never called him fat or anything.

But Smith himself has admitted in interviews that he's had to do be much more mindful of his eating habits to stay at a weight where he can play SLB comfortably.

If I'm Shoop and I'm playing a 4-2-5 base then both my LB's are MLB types. On the bigger and more physical side. Good teams will simply run over undersized converted safety types in a 2 LB set. I personally hope we see a lot more base 4-3 this season. And oh yeah, don't let Jumper see the field and we are instantly better than last year. I don't think I've ever seen worse individual LB play than what I saw from him the final month of last season.

My opinion but for uga uf and bama we better live in the 4-3

Smith admitted in interviews that he's had to be much more mindful of his eating habits to drop from 260ish to back down to 230-235. Never had a problem staying at weight, they wanted him up to the 250-260 range which is why he got to that weight initially.

Not for UF. OL and RB are horrible and they're in spread more than not.

I was basing it off last year's team I haven't really followed them much this spring or summer. Just read where their suppose be a very solid team and have great qb play.....

Be careful what you read.

I hope we beat piss out uga and uf. I truly can't stand them and fan base. Ij know alot people have big disdain for bama and I hate losing to them of course but it does not come close to the other two schools mentioned. Also would love to see Kirbys recruiting take a massive dive because of lack of on field results

I just can't believe anyone can say right now that UF will have great QB play. No one knows. Just like us.

If we beat UGA three years in a row, Butch will have even more to sell recruits in the state of Georgia.

Jamarcus Chatman's teammate Adam Anderson just decommitted from LSU tonight . I know he is probably a heavy lean to UGA right now, but do you guys think the staff will give him a look ? He is the #1 OLB .
