I mean thats fair but Im not trying to be combative about it. Just saw a poster say theyd go 5-7 and I dont see that at all
I honestly cant give a prediction yet because Ive havent seen or heard anything about McClendons offense. Sc has weapons on offense but theyre starting from scratch in terms of a playbook so never know how that will go.Said I wouldnt be surprised if they go 5-7.
Heres their schedule and what Im thinking:
Coastal Carolina W
Georgia L
Marshall W
@Vandy Even
@UK Probably L
Mizzou W
TAMU L
UT Even
@Ole Miss Even
@UF L
UT-Chat W
@Clemson L
Im telling you, to me, theyve got 4 guaranteed Ls and most likely 5 because Kentucky has owned SCjr for a good while (4 in a row).
Then theyve got some toss ups with us, Vandy and Ole Miss. Personally, I think well beat SCjr. So thats 6-6 right there minimum. Jmo, TIFWIW, etc.

SEC as a whole has a lot of interesting questions to answer this year. East is going to be interesting to watch this year. How big an impact Mullen and Pruitt have year one is going to be interesting to watchYeah, its probably stupid for me to talk about predictions but I really see SCjr as a really overrated team that will be exposed by a harder schedule.
And not even remotely true.
DL John Mincey of Homerville, GA is nearly finished with the process. The former Arkansas commitment made official visits to Tennessee and USC. Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt made his in home visit Wednesday and Friday morning USC defensive line coach Lance Thompson will get the final word with Mincey before his decision next week.
Pruitt was joined by assistants Tracy Rocker and Kevin Sherrer. And he wasnt the only head coach to visit this week. Alabamas Nick Saban also stopped by and talked to Mincey but that had no impact on him and his decision is still between the Vols and USC.
Mincey has a road basketball game Friday night so Thompson plans to arrive at the school as early as possible since Mincey has to leave early in the afternoon.
According to Clinch County assistant coach Don Tison, Mincey had set an official visit to Florida State this weekend but he doesnt think hes going to take it. Ole Miss also was trying to get him in for a visit.
I think hes just got it narrowed down to South Carolina and Tennessee, Tison said. I think he was having a hard enough time as it was and I really dont think he wanted to make it any harder.
Tison is close to Mincey and joined him on his official visit to USC last weekend, and he has his own personal feeling about where his star defensive lineman should go.
I feel like South Carolina is very much like south Georgia. I think Muschamp and his staff are going to recruit a lot of the same type of kids that are real similar to John, the small town, south Georgia, country, quiet, not big city kids, Tison said. I just feel like John would thrive in that environment more than he would in other environments. Feel like he fits in there but its his decision and Ill support him wherever he goes.
Tison said he expects Mincey to wait until Signing Day before announcing his decision.
Early in the week, it looked like John Mincey would take one more official visit this weekend. He thought hard about checking out Ole Miss, but after talking it over with those close to him and re-thinking his decision, he decided to stay home. That means the Rebels are out. Florida State was being considered too for a visit, but the Seminoles are out as well. It is down to South Carolina and Tennessee for the 6-foot-4, 258 pound defensive end out of Homerville (Ga.) Clinch County.
"I have a good idea where I am going," said Mincey. "It is down to two SEC schools, South Carolina and Tennessee, so I feel good about going to one of those schools. I would say that I know where I am going, but I am just not ready to put it out yet. "I will do that on Signing Day (February 7)." "Oh yeah, I really cannot wait to commit and get this over with. It has been a tough decision and I have had to think about this a lot, but I have made the best decision for me. "It was getting frustrating with all of the phone calls and it was a little stressful, so I am looking forward to next week. The coaches came hard at me, so it was a lot for me, so now it is going to get easier."
"The coaches at Tennessee were really what made them stick out to me. I met coach [Tracy] Rocker and coach [Kevin] Sherrer since ninth grade when I was going up to Georgia for camps and stuff. They are great guys, they had a real impact on me and they are good guys. "I also liked the players at Tennessee, the facilities and the feeling on campus. It is real nice up there."
What Mincey had to say about the Gamecocks was very similar to his response about Tennessee. "The people at South Carolina is what it is all about for me. It is kind of like Tennessee with the coaches being the best part. I am close with coach Lance Thompson and T-Rob (Travaris Robinson), so that is important. "I have gotten to know some of the players there too, like Javon Kinlaw and Keir Thomas, so it was cool with them too. I have a good feeling there like I do at Tennessee."
Instead of it being South Carolina vs. Tennessee, it is almost like Sherrer/Rocker vs. Thompson/Robinson. It came down to who Mincey felt best being around moving forward. "It came down to who I felt I had the best relationship with," said Mincey. "I am going to be spending the next four to five years at this school, so the relationships are very important to me."
i feel like after he made the comments about TN, it should have been followed by a "but..."...USCe bound imo.
He talks about which coaches he would be more comfortable with. He says that he has known Rocker and Sherrer since 9th grade. How much more comfortable can you be than coaches you known for 4 years. Not sure UCe coaches have been on him that long. Just a thought. But you do get a USCe feel here.
