'18 GA DE John Mincey (Tennessee signee)

i feel like after he made the comments about TN, it should have been followed by a "but..."...USCe bound imo.

I am feeling Vols on this one. Just the way he talked in the article Ron linked. He was using UT as the measuring stick when talking about SCe. " The coaches at SCe are...like they are at UT.""The people at SCe are...like they area at UT"

It may be nothing obviously, but it just seemed like he was speaking glowingly of the UT staff and then saying "and the SCe coaches are like that too."

And unless he just wants the NSD theatrics, if it is SCe why not go ahead and announce it since he said he is tired of the process?

I think he chooses UT.

I've heard rumors that he is actually not a take for Tennessee after bringing him in on an OV. I guess we'll see.

I hope that's the reason... means we getting those big fish I was referring to earlier

I don't know if it has anything to do with anyone else, other than the fact that he just isn't what they are looking for on the DL. I did hear they loved Otito though after his visit.

I remember Fulmer talking about how he would always give guys the eye test while on their OV to see if he thought they could develop more physically or if they were maxed out.

Could be some of that here.

I just don't think we land otito....but he's my biggest want on dline

three-star defensive end john mincey of clinch county high school in homerville, ga., also remains very much in play for tennessee despite the recent crystal ball predictions shifting heavily toward south carolina. Sources have said the vols still feel good about their chances of landing mincey, and he appears to be one of their best bets of landing one of their top remaining defensive-line targets.
