the pick: Tennessee. The 247sports crystal ball predictions have rolled in for south carolina since his visit with the gamecocks more than a week ago, but tennessee has remained a strong contender for the three-star defensive end from homerville, ga. The vols still need help at defensive end, and mincey looks like their best option. There’s reason to believe tennessee might pull this one out despite the crystal ball pointing to south carolina.

So, should we be excited about beating USCe for Mincey? I assume he has some talent if Muschamp was pushing for him.

McClendon is not proven, either. Hopefully, he struggles as much as Larry Scott did.

For sure. That’s why I called him a wild card. McClendon is a sharp guy though, and word is Bobby Bentley and Dan Warner are helping him create a new playbook. Going to be interesting to watch

Don't know how late in the game all his offers were committable/not commitable but he was previously committed to UGA. With offers from Tennessee, USc, Auburn, FSU, UF, Ole Miss, UK...plus he's a legit 6'4" 260lbs. No reason not to be excited to sign a guy like this, IMO.

Actually, he was committed to Arkansas. According to our boards Bama showed late interest and Satan visited him at school during the week between our official visits. Don't quote me on that because I don't know if true

We are excited about him, but there are worries that he may head to your hills

Tuesday thoughts – Many felt like South Carolina for Mincey up until the last 48 hours and that is mostly because Mincey went into a bunker since his visit to Columbia. In the last couple of days, coaches for South Carolina have made it clear they don't feel confident in Mincey. Conversely, the Vol vibes have been growing and they seem to be the team trending for the South Georgia lineman.
