'18 GA LB Quay Walker (UGA signee)

That is true. But just solely off name and reputation, JP would have been up there with any Assistant Coach. Took Kirby a lot longer as a DC to get his first HC job. Smart has a much easier job at GA with all the HS talent in that state.

I agree. I also agree Kirby probably does have the easiest place to recruit to. I don't think Saban was being dishonest about what he said about the Georgia job.

Is this guy a troll? Can’t remember.

The fact that you had to ask is alarming. Anybody posting on an open board can be a troll....or not one.

Anybody posting "he gone" more than likely is just wanting to stir up the open board and has nothing either way. Go with trusted posters to figure it out....oh wait there are none with information.

"He gone" is one of the most irritatingly childish things imo.

You know better. He was headed to GA at first opening. nowhere else unless Bama opened up. Smart has been the coach in waiting for GA for years.

I hate GA and Fla but truth be told they should have a huge recruiting advantage over TN and even Alabama, solely based off of instate talent. Obviously Saban can recruit any damn state he wants and pull a player from anywhere. Of course when you win like he does and put guys in the NFL it makes his job much easier. TN instate talent gets better every year but downside is we keep losing the more elite guys. Even worse when they are in our own backyard. I do think that trend starts to change under JP.

They've all had their coaches in place longer to build those classes, and all but one of the teams are coming off of bowl-eligible seasons.

You should know by now that facts and logic mean absolutely nothing when people are pushing their own agendas.

Yep you're right. Saban beats everybody because he has the best players. I don't think it's a secret why he wins. I'm bitter today lol.

Not sure that's true. If not for GA selling out and firing a coach with the record Richt had at GA, Kirby would be HC elsewhere. He wasn't just sitting around waiting on Richt to retire or get fired. He didn't do anything to even warrant getting fired. Supposedly Kirby wanted the TN job bad when Butch was hired but he wasn't established enough at that point. Kirby wasn't being offered big name jobs despite constantly being interviewed. He wasn't turning down elite jobs because he wasn't being offered.

And was coaching another team as late as January 8th?

well, that was a choice, and well within his control. and i doubt it matters anyway since most of that time was during the dead period...couldn't be on the road, can't have OV's or UOV's....so it is what it is.

my only thing is, there is a certain perspective needed if you're going to start saying stuff like "then why are 5 1st year head coaches ahead of CJP?"

Yeah, if you can’t sign the large percentage of the top players in your own state, you’re already behind the eightball. Got to keep almost all our best players .

Lucky? Or able to overcome a horrible play that was lucky for Georgia. It does not appear to me that you know the definition of lucky or truth.

It was lucky for Georgia that Foreman decided to stop running? When you when on a Hail Mary, a play that works maybe 1 or 2 times out of 100, that's lucky.

Lol..I'm holding out hope but I could be there by end of the day. Hopefully Mincey and Flowers start today off good for us. Mincey in particular. He would be a great first pickup today and beating Muschamp would be a bonus.

Vol

Drama created to make this look like big win for UT.

No worries on CBs. Most are uninformed and are only following other CBs when they see movement.
