'18 GA LB Quay Walker (UGA signee)

I hope you get in a fender bender on your way home today for saying some bullsh like that

Exactly..what the hell is wrong with people who pull for a kid to get injured. Anyone who can say that obviously doesn't have their own kids. Embarrassing to see a Vol fan say some stupid 'ish like that. Hell pull for Kirby to get his a$$ run over by one of his players during a game or wish an STD on Smart. But damn don't wish harm on a HS kid that could ruin his career. SMH

Read a yahoo sports review of signing day. True to form they thought it was noteworthy to mention this ill mannered kid chose to be petty and tossed the Vols hat aside. To me he’s a immature kid who doesn’t know any better primarily because of his parents. It comes off as ungrateful, one might say yeah he has talent but is he coachable? Will he accept discipline? We may have dodged a bust, just sayin.

He threw a hat. Wasn't like he pissed on our Power T or went on a cussing filled rant on everything Vol related. I feel very confident that throwing a future rivals hat doesn't put him on a path to a life of crime, hookers and drug abuse. Don't think his parents will need to send him on an episode of Scared Straight before shipping him off to Athens..I've never seen the how to book on beginning a life of crime but don't see hat throwing earning him much street cred. Probably should alert the local authorities to keep a watch out for extremely dangerous acts from a crazed hat thrower. Lock the doors and clear the streets before dark!

i just watched the video of Quay tossing our hat...:realmad:
Dude like what's you're problem?? I don't want to question the dude upbringing but man have some respect. He should apologize for that act!!!

I agree. All he had to do was pickup a hat and put it over his gigantic forehead. And not forget to show that butterstick he has for teeth. Ole, Oscar from Fish Tales lookin' ahhh...Ok rant over. Too much?

I can see how emotional you are about other peoples opinions. People in this life are going to have opinions that differ from yours. I don't think it was a really big deal but it was an act of disrespect in most peoples eyes although minor.

Confession: I trashed QW after reading several posts about his announcement, without watching it for myself. I should not have done that.

Minus all those national championships is kinda important.

I don't believe the Georgia HS coach that I quoted was comparing Kirby to Saban when it comes to National Championships. Wouldn't make sense given the fact that Kirby has only been a head coach for two years. I believe the Georgia HS coach was simply pointing out how much Kirby is liked on the recruiting trail. Similar comments are being made by other Georgia HS coaches.

Saban has always been one of my favorite football coaches, and I like the fact that Georgia was able to hire a head coach that was mentored by him for several years.

Quay apologized for the hat throwing incident yesterday as I had hoped:
"I really wasn’t disrespecting Tennessee at all . Sorry if y’all felt some type of way about it! I’m just happy to be a DAWG 🐶 ... God Bless ✊🏽 ( I’m 17 😂 )" -- Quay Walker

“Very uncool of linebacker Quay Walker to put on a Tennessee hat before throwing it away in what seemed like disgust while donning his Georgia gear. Show some respect for the coaches at Tennessee that spent so much time and effort recruiting you, young man. They spent hours away from their families to spend time with you and your family, and I assume did nothing to disrespect you, so don’t disrespect them. That’s my annual lecture.”

Thats not an apology. Thats one of those sarcastic "apologies" you see from a kid who doesnt mean but says it just to get out of hot water. Saying I'm 17 with a laughing emoji makes everything above it meaningless. If you can blame your age, you're aware that it was a bad move and you're blaming some thing other than yourself. Apology is garbage, the move was garbage. Not saying the kid is because i don't know him but I pray this was out of character. Unfortunately with that "apology" it doesn't appear to be.

Because unfortunately this will happen again next year. Maybe not to UT but some other school.

Will the hat toss lead to a life of crime? No. Was it classless and disrespectful? Yes.

If I would have done something like that if I had been fortunate enough to be in his position, my Dad would have beat my backside and I would be making a public apology. On second thought, I wouldn't have done that at all because I was raised to respect people and to be appreciative of opportunities.

Agreed. He should some class but that goes for fans as well. Wishing injuries or career ending injuries is actually showing Less class. What he did is no more classless than Gaulden flipping off Alabama fans, that was perhaps worse as it was on national tv and UT was losing to make it look worse. I saw plenty of threads started praising him and some of the same names here praising Gaulden while crucifying Walker. Neither showed class. Fortunately, both players can grow and mature, fans can too.

Don't ask who and then dismiss it as its nothing.

I'm not happy about what QW did at all either.

But since you asked because you really want to know. Caleb Tanner.

Like I originally said, overwhelming majority of kids did it the right way, unlike two kids, Quay and Caleb, who acted like disrespectful asses and embarrassed themselves whether they (or you) know it or not.

Incredibly well said. Unbelievable that so many in here are arguing otherwise.

What's the (or you) comment about? How many times do I need to say that I think QW and CT are classless.

He'll probably wind up in jail before fall anyway with the good judgment he has displayed so far.....

My understanding is his mom knows he needs mentoring. It was a deciding factor in his recruitment. It will be interesting where Quay is at in two years. Could go either way IMO.

Comparing what some goofball says on a message board or on Twitter to what a recruit did on national tv is almost laughable. Gaulden flipping off the crowd was immature and should have been punished by the coaching staff but the coaching staff at Alabama didn't spend hours recruiting him so he essentially just made himself look foolish in front of thousands of people. I highly doubt Walker will suffer in consequences from the coaching staff and may have been encouraged to do so.

Athens PD will pick him up. Athens PD have spurts of not giving a butt who you are.

You are going to punish him for ???
Tell me the punishment he should receive. UT handbook deems no missed games for a failed drug test, thus no punishment. Is throwing a hat worse than failing a drug test?

He got his punishment because he ruined his reputation by being immature, well, stupid. He is already labeled (and put in prison by some on here), through his own actions. No one to blame but himself. He embarrassed no one but himself. But how does a college coach punish him? Like above, yeah, if I’m dad, he Will get punishment at home.

MSU didn’t/couldn’t punish Simmons bc he beat up a girl (on video if you want to look) bc he did it before being on campus.
