This staff has turned Josh Dobbs into one of the most dangerous weapons in CFB. How many other "can't miss" studs ranked above him have washed out I wonder?
I agree with you. However you cannot always count on that. What scenario is more likely, a lower ranked guy that develops into one of the most dangerous weapons in CFB, or a highly ranked blue chip guy turning into the same?
I would say smart money is on the latter. I would be happy with fields but lets not fool ourselves into thinking he is on par with guys like TL and EJ.

He might not be a better pure QB talent than those 2 guys but I think he's a better fit for our system. Fields is way more athletic than Lawrence or Jones. He fits our zone read scheme perfectly.
This is sorta like comparing Hurd and Kamara. Hurd is the more talented pure RB especially in a pro-style I-formation offense. But Kamara is a better fit for our spread zone read scheme.
That's how I see Fields vs Lawrence/Jones.
Tennessee is probably the slight favorite right now, but it will be interesting to see whether he decides to stick with his original plan of making a decision by the end of this month. I think the recent flurry of offers he has received has made him think a little bit about whether he needs more time.
Just to clarify, he moved into the top 100 per the 247 rankings, not the composite. For those relatively unfamiliar with 247, you will typically see the composite rating sited within articles; moreover, when viewing the team rankings, it will show the ranking based on the composite rankings. Great news on Fields nonetheless.
Thanks buddy! You must have VIP Access
