'18 GA QB Justin Fields

Yes, he's shown major improvement in all the real game action he's seen thus fa.... wait... He's not played in any non-exhibition games yet.

I love me some Dobbs but let's not pretend that there are a whole bunch of folks out there who can teach throwing accuracy to a 22 year old man.

Wait a second. I thought the criticism of Dobbs was that he was a terrible practice player but a "gamer". If I remember that was the main defense people tried to use to explain why Butch waited until all other QBs were injured before playing Dobbs as a sophomore.

Now you're saying Dobbs having flawless accuracy in these practices and workout doesn't matter?

If anything Josh has proven over the last few months that all those reports that was a bad practice player were completely FALSE. Butch Jones refused to start Dobbs the beginning of his sophomore year because he's a terrible coach that doesn't know how to utilize his talent.

Just remembering back early 2015 season when D4H threw in the towel and acknowledged that Dobbs was not talented enough to be an SEC QB.

Dobbs issue was Butch Jones. Same for Kamara.

It's funny that the moment Dobbs left Butch Jones and got some pro coaching at the senior bowl he immediately improved.

Dobbs actually improved a good bit from his jr. season to his sr season, with his accuracy improving from 59% to 63%, and in particukar his diwnfield throws. But he still had issues with his accuracy on short throws, which was evident in the SC game. I think part of Dobbs' problem was that he could be distracted by off the field issues. The week of the SC game that Hurd was a distraction, but we also later found out that Dobbs had a major project that kept him up until 2am every night th week. Whether that actually had an effect on Josh against SC, we will never know, but he certsinly didn't look right in that game. I think not having that heavy academic workload as a distraction could very well help him at the next level.

No. I really like Ainge and Claussen both and they led us to more wins than Dobbs. They were both superior passes and, of course, Dobbs can run much better. Let's see who has the longest pro career. I think all three of these players had fantastic careers at Tennessee.

I didn't say he was as sturdy as Dobbs. He was a better quarterback though, more accurate than Dobbs even when he was full of painkillers out there in '07. Ainge's body was done by the time he went to the Jets.

I had a few opportunities to see some practices in Neyland during Dobbs first two years on campus. And he was less sharp during those practices than guys like Peterman and Worley.

It wasn't like he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn or anything, but you could tell he had some things in his mechanics he needed to work on. He's worked a lot to improve over 4 years. He's lightyears ahead of where he was in 2014.

Also, QB pro days are notoriously overrated. Everything they do is scripted. They've been practicing that same script down to each throw for weeks leading up to that pro day.

I still remember watching Jake Locker's pro day when he threw 49/50 flawless passes and everybody was clamoring that his performance put his accuracy issues to rest.

He didn't make it past his rookie contract mainly because his accuracy persisted.

That's true. But if Dobbs sticks, it will not only be because he is more durable.

LOL.

You guys will be so wrong it won't even be funny.

I just 4-5 years from you when Dobbs is the NFL MVP you won't pretend that you saw his talent all along.

What happens in 4-5 years when you're wrong? We gonna see a complete post-Ohio meltdown from you again?

There is no chance I'm wrong. I am more sure about Dobbs than any athlete I've ever seen.

He's destined for greatness.
