Refocusing the resources to areas of likely success instead of throwing good money after bad chasing a long shot. I'll take Martinez and be glad to have him.

5-star Justin Fields, Harrison (Ga.): Fields is the most recent offer. He’s also a hot commodity for other programs such as Georgia, Florida and Florida State. Worth noting, Fields plays quarterback for the Cam Newton 7-on-7 team and grew up a fan of Newton. Still, it’ll be a tough flip for someone who is still committed to Penn State and has been recruited by other rival programs. Fields is keeping his options open, and a visit to Auburn wouldn’t be surprising in the slightest.

Right now, they have the most momentum with him. He is slipping away from Penn St, last two trips up to PSU and the distance is setting in. Fields got hurt last week in his baseball game, looked bad (ankle/knee). He didn't even come out, you could tell he was hurting, dude is a gamer. He has 'it'. He's fine now. Look for him to visit after baseball this summer unless he does East Cobb travel team in baseball.

If Emory Jones takes another 'secret recruiting trip', Urban may have a stroke. OSU got EJ back on campus, they asked him to shut down the visits. His response? "Coach, if I decommit, you will be the first to know!" Doh! That had to hurt lol.

Fields to Florida makes no sense at all. He is Dobbs 2.0. Mac has no idea how to use a guy like that. He'll be wasted there.

Yeah not a great fit. Penn st is actually a really good fit if that OC stays there the whole time which is probably unlikely as he will be a hot target with another big year.

Volquest pod they mentioned fields possibly flipping to Ga or FSU, but not Florida. They said Florida was going hard after the Williams kid

Yeah Florida would be a horrible choice and a terrible fit for him, same with UGA. No clue what happened between him and Tennessee. He was very high on the Vols and then just all of a sudden he dropped them and stopped considering them. Really odd, because he fits in perfectly with what our staff likes at QB, plus we just got a similar QB drafted fairly high.

My thoughts exactly also...This kid is dumb if he goes UF. Maybe Mac is selling what Grier did for a few games before he was busted, but it's not like he was putting up Dobbs like numbers even when they were winning with him, and Fields is not made for that offense..Period.
