What is that? Because if he transferred, he would have to sit out a year anyway. That could be his redshirt year. Why do people care if he redshirted this year or not? It would make no difference in that scenario.

Now if he waited another couple years to grad transfer, then it would actually matter.

Yep, makes no sense to think he'd leave there and come here. We have Bailey coming anyway.

not to propogate the rumors, but if fields did transfer here next year, and sat, he'd be able to play in 20. it wouldn't be a huge stretch to say we couldn't RS Bailey for the 20 season.

we'll have JG (RS sr), Shrout and Maurer all on the roster.

all i'm saying is, numbers wise, it could work, as i sit here today, and it not really affect Bailey.

For the life of me I can't understand why a top rated QB would go to a school where there was a good chance he wouldn't start until his senior year. It's got to be a $$$ thing or something.

Martinez and Penix have the same potential as Lawrence at this point. Remember we are talking about just being juniors in high school. Lots of time for a separation in development that could swing any number of ways.

Like I have mentioned before, I am all-in for Fields staying in Athens and being inserted more into their offense at the expense of playing time for Fromm. The happiness and spirit of a 5-star HS QB should take precedent over everything.

Bailey is another season away from even getting on campus. He'd be a true freshman, whereas Fields would be a RS Sophomore with one year in the new OC's system. If you wouldn't take that level of competition at the QB position, you're crazy.

Well, I don't know about "fit." But, he might soon be good enough to start. If Fromm goes down, then he would be the guy. I don't know UGA's depth chart, but I know they don't have experience after Fields.
