“Greyson Lambert will be gone after this year and they will just have Jacob Eason and Brice Ramsey,” Lawrence said. “If Brice Ramsey doesn’t start, then he will probably either punt or go somewhere else so they will only have Jacob Eason. They have to get two quarterbacks in the ‘17 class. They told me that. I appreciate them being honest with me and not saying I’m the only guy they need to get. They need more than that. I will just have to see who they can sign."

“You really can’t escape the fact there is going to be someone older than you already there,” Lawrence said. “They can’t not sign a ‘16 or a ‘17 kid. They have to sign at least one in each. I’ve been thinking about it. At first I was a little worried about it. A couple of other places have quarterbacks already in (the classes of) ‘17 or ‘16 that are really good. But then I was thinking if I want to go play big-time football I am going to have to deal with it."

I get what you're saying but Ramsey wasn't a superstar QB by any means. He played in a Wing T offense in high school and was always considered a very talented, but incredibly raw prospect as it related to being a big time QB. The kid only threw for 2,800 yards in 3 years starting.

At least Clemson has fallen.

“Clemson actually has two 2017 (quarterbacks) now in Chase (Brice) and (Hunter Johnson) who had been committed to Tennessee that flipped,” Lawrence said. “They are both pretty good. I think that’s what brought Clemson down to number three from number one like I would say they were a couple of months ago.”

I think Tennessee and Georgia are both at the top of his list. He definitely likes the Vols, but he hasn't named a leader recently, and it sounds like Georgia has made a bit of a move lately.

I think the Vols are going to have do two things to help secure TL. 1) beat Georgia and 2) show some serious improvement in the passing game.

Maybe once we have a starting qb that is a pretty good passer that will also cause these wrs to pucker up and want to give more effort.

UGA just flipped 2017 4* Rivals100 QB Jake Fromm from Alabama. UGA has signed the #1 QB in the 2016 class (Jacob Eason) & has now got a commitment from the #3 QB in the 2017 class (Jake Fromm). This news has to bode well for UT with Lawrence's recruitment. Trevor Lawrence has been very adamant from the get-go that he is looking to sign with a team that doesn't have multiple QB signed ahead of him. This is the same reason that Lawrence dropped Clemson down his list a few months ago. Look for Tennessee to firmly cement itself as the #1 school for Lawrence & land his commitment later this summer. JMO.

How does the N'Kosi Perry recruitment figure into all of this? Or is he being recruited for a different position?
