Lulz. I didn't mean to imply that using the word turd was what made me ask the question. Sorry, he's just much more of an aggressive personality than I've seen in people of the profession. So I couldn't remember if it was him or someone else I was thinking of.

Also, didn't expect such a thread derailment but it is VN offseason, if it wasn't this it'd be dog farts I suppose.

Last word on this from me...I understand that, but try and understand this. I have to go around like I'm walking on eggshells literally all the time. I don't have to do that here, or at least I didn't think I did. Have you ever considered the apostles? They were a bunch of guys like me. Regular joes that got mad, and screwed up a lot. I don't know where this belief that ministers are somehow just a bunch of meelymouthed weak kneed guys came from, or even got started. Some are softspoken, some are not. Some are aggressive personalities, some are not. I am not a professional minister, nor do I want to be...as you said I also apologize for the derailment. I think I'm just going to lurk VN for awhile...have a blessed day.

They do keep details close to the vest, but rest assured Clemson is still among top schools. Incredible staff. They have done the best job of all the schools in recruiting him from what I hear.

What in Gods name is going on in here? I thought this forum would gain some sanity as we progress but this, this is something else.

Back to TL at any time fellas, ya know since we're in his thread and all.

That's not how things go. These guys are too bored at work

Ever since I downgraded myself from insider status I've slept much, much better at night :). My guy doesn't work in the program anymore so I have to rely on these jack asses for any decent info. (It's a joke, Freak. Please don't penalize me)

U, you're one of the reasons I read VN. Your personal story has also meant a lot to me and, from what I can judge, a few others as well.

You're good people and you bring something to the board. If your mere posting causes some nimrods to post less? More the better. :clapping:

Don't worry about it, it's all good. You didn't offend me, now what my oncologist tells me this Thursday might offend me, but not anything on a message board. :) Keep doing what you are doing and blessing people's lives with your ministry. Preachers are human and face the same challenges each day that everyone does, if not more. As far as what I do eat, I partake of the Baptist bird quite often, I love me some fried chicken. :p Anyway, keep your head up and I'm praying that God blesses you and your ministry.

True this.

I play in the worship team at my church, and was having a bit of a whiny moment during a service, mix issues or something, when I was struck by an acute awareness that there were those in the audience fighting for their lives...with smiles on their faces. My pouting at the sound man or worship leader or whomever suddenly seemed really small. Be well and be blessed.

Since we are all experiencing personal revival up in here. Pray for our church tomorrow. I've got 11 pages of notes to preach... with translation. :)

I always tell myself, when I'm up to speak, "I'm going to do a 20 minute sermon, in keeping with people's max attention span." lol

The man who had the most impact in my life tended to go about 25. He never felt the need to convince or sell, only to present, because he knew that it wasn't his job to do so. He was a big believer in the concept that he was simply there to bear witness to truth that was already in you, and that if you didn't get what he called "the divine uh huh", nothing he could say would change that.

I'm preaching tomorrow also. Ministers are human, but we should strive to be a litter higher than the lay member. After all, we are called to be God's oracles. Preach in season and out of season. There's always someone who needs a word from the Lord.

11 pages? Wow, about what time does the 4th qtr start? If you are really good, I can be there at halftime.

If I had 11 pages of notes, I'd go 2 hours. Is that a full manuscript?
