I have been told by a Cartersville alum, whose son plays baseball with him, that he is a "California boy with zero work ethic". This person thinks he will be a bust at the next level because he's not willing to put in the work to succeed. I'll be interested to see how his college career plays out, and if this person is right.

Glad to hear that. I honestly don't know if it's the truth or not. I'm just sharing with the board what I was told. If he's a Vol, I certainly hope it's not the truth.

I'm not saying I have any source. Just said an alum told me this. Did I believe him? Not really. I don't know him, the coach, or anyone else there. I threw out the info to see if anyone else had heard anything similar.

Coaches are drooling all over him for a reason. Maybe this person has an agenda against him...I don't know, nor do I care. I know our coaching staff wants him, and that's good enough for me. Everyone is so worried about recruiting...I'm not. Butch and his staff have proven themselves to me on the trail. All I need to see is wins...BIG WINS!! I believe that happens in a big way this year. When it does, watch Butch close really strong in this class and knock 2018 class out of the park, too.

IF? He actually said who his source was. I'd take his word 1000x before I would certain 'insiders' on here. Even though I believe TL is grinding hard, as far as the family talk, quite a few kids are a 180 at school vs what they are at home in front of mom and dad (general statement not guided towards TL specifically).

I just wonder if most folks realize how close the big schools scrutinize top recruits. Good HS coaches will not lie for a kid when asked about work ethic and attitude. Coaches line up at school and watch them lift weights. They speak to teachers, counsellors and so on. Schools like Duke and Stanford go much deeper.

As far as chances for the Vols. They keep it close to the vest. Doesn't appear the staff did A very good job in his recruitment this spring based on comments I hear from the staff. Critical factor will be scheme. Selling the fact it will change. Not sure they are sold on it.

Don't expect a decision before Jul/Aug.

That's kind of what I thought, but I don't know, I mean he's not committed, why should they waste a chance at another top QB? Surely they understand that we have to try and make sure we get a great QB?
