Looks like the Vols are struggling to get top QB's committed in 2017 and 2018. From what I hear it is poor Oline recruiting/development and scheme. Several top recruits from multiple classes will follow. Top tier QB's. It will be a win/win or lose/lose situation. My guess is that TL's decision could impact where 6-7 other kids commit, maybe more.

Tennessee can't afford to miss out on a quality QB for 2 consecutive years. Very concerning considering HJ decommit a few months ago. Something isn't right here. Need to fix it in a hurry.

7 of the top 10 OLine (Alpha order, not top 7 just 7)
Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, NCarolina, Tennessee, USC
Guess which are other 3

I wouldn't say struggling, and there's nothing terribly wrong that needs fixing. TAMU is the type of situation that is concerning and needs fixed fast. We are nowhere near in that type of boat.

With how well 15 and 16 went with QB recruiting, there's really no need to use a slot on a QB in 17. With Dormady, Jones, and Guarantano all stacked up behind Dobbs, you just aren't going to get a top tier guy to sign. 2018 is the year to take another top QB, and we're WAY off from that signing day.

We passed on Austin Kendall and Hunter Johnson saw guarantano fit our system better. So not wrong.

How did he "see" that before he played a down? :pilot:

Before we get too far into a "Butch's system" back and forth, I'll leave it with HJ saw a better talent in JG that would be a RS freshman when he arrives on campus...on the same team that (at the time) that TL was a favorite to land on...JMO. :hi:

Lawrence said he isn't a runner every QB on our roster can use their legs, maybe not as well as Dobbs does but still.

Well we need a QUARTERBACK...not a "runner". Once again...not getting dragged into a "Butch's system" symposium hosted by message board experts not Butch Jones. :hi:

"Seems" like "seems" is shorthand for I know what Butch's system is better than he does but I won't expressly say it. When I recruit a Dormady over a Torrance Gibson, I'm throwing curveballs. :wink2: "Seems" that I still won't get dragged into a "Butch system" debate no matter how crafty and wily the opponent may be.

Torrence Gibson was never coming here and would have ended up receiver and didn't munchie nearly lose a leg playin?..

Need to reread that recruiting thread...lot of "Butch system" experts would disagree. And Munchie was replaced the previous season by Kay, who was the projected starter the next season before shoulder fatigue dropped him. Munchie was due for demotion before the leg injury...Kay took over and the team excelled after being inconsistent early in the season...easy to look up. :)

I don't care if we play a blind kid as long as we win so either way, but anyway thanks for your expertise.
