f*** Clemson and that dufus Dabo.

Dude knows how to accumulate, develop and appropriately use top talent and then go win a ton of ballgames with it. Gotta tip your hat. Can't blame recruits for wanting to go be a part of that. It sucks for us, but it is what it is. We could use our own version of Dabo in Knoxville.

First...I said we were in the mix...I didn't say it was a done deal...so don't put words in my mouth.

Secondly...As we all know there is a lot of time here before this is done. Going off of the family situation I was presented I was told TN was a top consideration recently...and I still believe that

Third-Clemson.... there are lot of rumors going around regarding some potential NCAA infractions that may be coming in the future for Clemson. Remains to be seen if that will come to fruition...but if it does it may have a effect on their '18 and beyond class.

Yes clearly I am disappointed he didn't commit to TN...but again...we have time here...I am still very hopeful we could land him long term...and I will stick by that.

His first 4 years at Clemson,

4-3
9-5
6-7
10-4

We may have our own version. Building a program doesn't happen overnight.

This.

Dabo isn't a genius coach. He has just been given enough time to get it right and he kept improving and kept winning enough to keep the momentum and to keep the posse at bay.

Butch needs a big year next year.

I'm sorry, there is absolutely no evidence that Butch will trend the same way that Dabo has. I'm not saying it can't happen, but until there is something tangible that says it willhappen, and not just blind optimism, I will dismiss that theory.

Dabo had to learn how to be a HC. Butch had been one for numerous years. Not to say that there isn't a learning curve going to the SEC, but Dabo had to start from scratch. Can't stand the guy, but I guess kudos to him.

In other words, you are willing to invent excuses for Dabo but not for Butch.

You are confusing evidence with proof. There is not proof. There is plenty of evidence.

It may or may not happen. I'm just pointing out that it's unfair to compare a guy that's had 10 years with a program to a guy that's had 4. If you are going to compare them, compare the same number of years, you get similar results. How then is Dabo a better coach?

I have no reason to invent excuses for Dabo. I have no investment in the Clemson program. In fact, I discovered that there was one program I could root for Alabama over in the national championship.

That appears to be the case with what happened with Dabo after playing itself out. No excuses for me, and I'm not going to make excuses for Butch either. If he has the chance to have that path play out for him, well, that's outside of my control as well, but I'd be all for it.

Nice try at a substance lacking zinger though.

This absolutely makes no sense to me. What the hell does everyone see in Dildo? Why would the #1 2018 QB pick the same college as the #1 2017 QB? So one of them can sit on the bench?:crazy::crazy:What a waste!:bad::bad:

PS. I hope Bama kicks their a$$

Reported for foul language. There is no place for hoping for a Bama victory around here

Semantics aside, what evidence? The trending of the record?

Come on.

If we beat Vanderbilt, your take on trends is entirely different.

We are getting the top lineman in the nation in 2017. We are getting the top lineman in the nation in 2018. We have at least one, and perhaps as many as three stellar running backs coming in.

Our defensive interior will be excellent once we get some people healthy. We will have tremendous speed and size at DE. We have two outstanding and proven receivers returning and more developing.

If you want to conclude the program is doomed to failure, all I can do is just shake my head. We aren't guaranteed success, no one is. But is the potential to continue to develop into a championship program there?

Absolutely!

In January 2012 after West Virginia hung 70 on Clemson, I'm sure they had their own McGee's Pub on their board saying "Dabo just isn't a head coach. After 4 years I see no evidence that he's ever gonna get it done as a head coach."

Your excuse for Dabo is that he had to learn how to be a head coach. Reality is that you are forming a conclusion that Butch isn't capable and then coming up with reasons why Dabo's case is different even though their trajectories are similar.

I don't know if Butch is gonna get it done. Looking more like he's come really close but missed out on a couple of games that would have gotten him over the hump but now he may never break through the perceived ceiling.

But there's definitely still a chance that he could have a breakout year and then get to a point of sustained success making future success more probable.

We may indeed, but I wouldn't bet on it based on what we've seen.

Looks like Dabo made a good jump from year 3 to year 4, followed by a 5 year run he's currently on where he's 58-9 with 2 straight Final 4 playoff appearances.

Conversely, Butch took a significant step back imo from year 3 to year 4. He enters 2017 on a pretty warm seat and nobody's saying he's primed to go on a similar run to the one Dabo is currently on. We all remember 1998 so there's hope, but it surely isn't likely.

I hope Butch does a 180 and pulls it together beginning next year and is here for a long time due to unprecedented success. But I just don't see it Kristy.

Butch has to hire elite coordinators and assistants, and most importantly get out of their way and let them coach, just like Dabo did. That's how he's going to take it to the next level and win championships at Tennessee. If he doesn't do those things he most likely won't be around much longer.

I really think it's that simple.

no one knew how Dabo was trending either. What if their fans had wanted him gone after the 6-7 season. Fans are too impatient. Want to win it all in year 1.
