Hope it's true
Yeah, I believe Shocky said "I am still 100% commited to UK" when interviewed by VQ immediately after his first visit to UT...then promptly decommitted.
Not that I think he will decommit, but it is the following Monday that always seems to be the crucial day. If he remains a Vol past Monday, then . I think we good.
1. Dixon was a guy Tennessee did well to get in with early and get him on the commitment list this summer. Now the Vols have to fight to keep him there. That was always going to be the case. Clemson is a threat, and others are likely to emerge, too. I don't think there's anything "imminent" to worry about here though. Vols just have to continue to lean on Lyn-J.

Speaking of crazy, do you still think I'm crazy that Cook will decommit from FSU?
However, if for some reason I did say it (though I can't imagine why I would), then obviously I was wrong.
I don't remember making any comment on Cook one way or the other because I really didn't pay any attention to his recruitment since UT didn't seem to be a major player, especially once he committed to FSU. You may be confusing me with someone else. However, if for some reason I did say it (though I can't imagine why I would), then obviously I was wrong.
Dang, Ivan. You can't be admitting you were wrong right off the bat!! You're preventing 3 pages of argumentative posts about who was wrong & why...what's wrong with you?? It's the off season...we need entertainment. Sheesh!
Just messing with you man. I said awhile back, call me crazy, but I think Cook decommits. You said, ok, you're crazy. All in good taste. Clemson trying to get in his recruitment, think he would do well there. Think he would here as well. I don't think Dixon is looking but Cook would be a heck of a replacement.
Nay, I wouldn't argue. CI is a good poster and seems like a good guy, was just ribbing him a little. :hi:
Same here...Ivan is good peoples. The arguments here do get to be a but much though IMO. If you do post an opinion you're instantly either an idiot, homer, troll...whatever seems to fit at the time.
I never played and don't have a lot of insight. I just love the Vols and come here to learn about potential players. I'm sure I'm not the only lurker that tires of the who knows most contests. Let people state their opinions...their statements will stand witness if they're wrong.
We closed last week’s Insider by teasing to another Cookout visitor who had yet to confirm attendance publicly. That was Butler (Ga.) Taylor County running back Lyn-J Dixon, whom we’ve pinned since last summer as a prime candidate for this class.
Clemson held firm on withholding further running back offers till five-star Zamir White rendered his decision in late June. Dixon, meanwhile, repeatedly listed the Tigers among his contenders despite their not offering, denoting his trust in co-offensive coordinator Tony Elliott for transparency. To its credit, Tennessee worked fast in advance, turning up the heat and securing a commitment following his visit to one of its summer recruiting functions the week before White’s decision.
Dixon (5-10, 185) summarily told reporters he would still be taking visits before he signed with a school. So do the math, and Dixon amounted to the surprise visitor who wasn’t really a surprise. He camped at Alabama earlier in the week as well, so it’s not as if his eyes aren’t wandering. Dixon has eschewed conducting media interviews for the last few weeks, another mild tell.
We’ve communicated with multiple contacts who indicated Dixon’s visit went well Friday. As it assesses the running back field, the foundation is being laid for Clemson to have options and possibly raid the Vols’ commitment list once again.
Brick by brick.
Dabo is a good coach, don't get me wrong but I think a lot of people on here are giving him too much credit than he actually deserves.
They'll take a step back this year with Watson gone.
From Clemson rivals...
That last line rustles my jimmies to the max. I really hope that new money program loses a few this fall. Dbags.
