First off WVU is on the verge of hiring a new coach. They gave or given this year. He was brought in as number 1 back and was the whole time up till when he left. WVU has has an enormous turn over and portal action between 20 to 30 players.WVU sports wise is a mess in all aspects, coaches etc basketball just as bad. I would read a whole lot in their media etc. We will see ourselves it looks likeFrom WVU posters:
If you go deeper into their boards, though, they were not happy or so matter-of-fact about him leaving the week leading up to him leaving, and the day that he left. Very distraught.
Typical "didn't want him anyway." Just sharing what was out there.
I can't find the post now but basically a WVU member was saying that the WVU staff recruited him as a transfer to come in - promising him major/starting role. Then the WVU staff realized that they had a great RB room and were more invested in the guys that would be there long-term.
I'm sure that the truth is somewhere in the middle, but if Dixon left Clemson to go be a starter or a 1-B, and then wasn't getting that opportunity, I think I can understand him being pissed. On the other hand, if the WVU staff thought they were getting the guy from the 2018 and 2019 highlights that I posted, and then he showed up on campus and loafed it, I can understand them being pissed too.
Reasonable take. Should probably pump the brakes on him, but if he works hard...IF...no reason he shouldn't be able to be a solid rb2.From WVU posters:

Mostly, though he could take a 2023 scholarship spot. If he is a bust, there's the small bit of risk roster-wise.there's basically no risk for his addition at this point.
dude has RB1 potential. clearly, its gonna be a committee type thing this year.Reasonable take. Should probably pump the brakes on him, but if he works hard...IF...no reason he shouldn't be able to be a solid rb2.
His biggest issue (on-field) seems to be poor blocking. His usefulness may be limited vs certain teams that we favor the pass against.
Better than nothing, regardless. I'm glad we took decisive action to fill up the rb room. Decent floor...high ceiling.
Potential...yes. He has his work cut out for him though in learning the offense and building trust and chemistry. Maybe later in the season if I had to guess. It's Small's job to lose though imodude has RB1 potential. clearly, its gonna be a committee type thing this year.
If only Dee Beckwith had stuck it out.
Not off the table but very unproven in that role. Best seasons were backing up Etienne. If he’s invested, that’s a wallop as a change of pace in this already hyper-paced offense.Callahan was asked about a possible depth chart listing Dixon 2nd.
Said he could rise to RB2 once he learns the playbook, "if he shows some maturity and lives up to the potential he showed as a freshman and sophomore at Clemson".
Basically sees him as a wildcard.
I still feel like rb1 shouldn't be off the table if he's as good as he was at Clemson. But anyway
I know it's blue font, but. . . he probably could've earned some playing time in this situation. These guys cut & run too fast. Just because the path to playing time looks closed today, it could open up tomorrow. A lot of guys are gonna hurt themselves by quitting too soon and missing the big opportunity they've been working to get.dude has RB1 potential. clearly, its gonna be a committee type thing this year.

Well there’s a couple of things sometimes with kids. Most obvious is he could’ve been lazy. Also could have been a bad fit as well, kid could’ve got depressed and went through the motions till he could find a better landing spot. It happens, sometimes it’s not laziness or anything else but you just don’t fit with the staff. From WVU posters:
