'18 GA RB Lyn-J Dixon (Tennessee transfer)

Kind of interesting that Tiyon was already with the team when Heupel was hired, seemed to have attitude problems based on reports when he left. Now Dixon being brought in by a coach who’s against attitude problems/locker room issues. I wouldn’t think they’d take him if they didn’t feel like he would work out

He has to work out for 1 semester

Tiyon really didn’t have issues with the staff. He had issues going to class…..any and all classes.

Well i meant “attitude problems” encompasses that. I was just trying to say i don’t think they’d bring in Dixon if they didn’t see it working out in some way

Time is short and losing Whitehead late is what it is. Fall is here, so does anybody have a solid feel for where we are in regards to our 85? Not sure how many outside additions are really out there for this season. This could factor into any risk/reward decision about this guy.

Dixon left Clemson because a freshman showed up on campus and was immediately given the starting role after Dixon spent 3 years waiting for his turn. I don't think that's a sign of a bad attitude.
Good point. Kind of like Ty Chandler knew the job was going to Tiyon (that was the idea anyway). No hard feelings there

Chandler left as a grad transfer before cornbread was fired and before Evans showed up - way different. Would you have stayed and played another year in the disfunctional program cornbread was running?

I am going to go with the staff regardless, and understand the CU situation, but do wish he had made a decision he could stick with as he exited. But I have had to admit to a few double OOPS situations in my life.

Well, actually, Ty left early January when Tiyon was already on campus and Cody Brown had signed his LOI. No I don’t blame Ty for leaving at all. I’m saying that Shipley coming to Clemson and given the reigns is similar to that in the sense “why would I stay here when I’ve waited 2-3 years to be THE guy” like Chandler deserved here. I’m glad he did well at UNC and pumped to see what he does in Minnesota

I think I remember hearing Heupel say we aren’t that close to the 85. I could be wrong though.

Really like to know the number though... As we have seen on this board there are LOTS of guys that entered the portal that have not landed anywhere. Would it be worth a couple of shots at one year guys where we have our biggest holes, or do we have some walkons we would prefer to reward? You don't get bonus points when you are below 85. Might be a situational goal line run stopper or a CB where the lights came on sitting out there.... or m aybe a misused guy that could help SOME at LB... hail mary type chances, but heck might be worth a couple of shots. Don't think we are going to find any all conference every down players, but just don't tie up next year counters.
