'18 GA RB Lyn-J Dixon (Tennessee transfer)

The problem is they’re both unproven freshmen. We will absolutely need all 4 this year, and probably use a walk on as well

Unproven freshmen who performed well enough in camp that a guy with a 6.5 ypc average at Clemson felt he couldn’t beat them out and quit.

If we use the walk-on, it’ll be in mop up. There hasn’t been a season in my lifetime in which that 5th string RB played meaningful minutes for Tennessee.

Meh, I’m good with it. Sucks but shows we have the right guys in charge. Bring in a high potential guy if he shows he has some issues he’s out the door. Our former coaches would’ve hung on till the whole lockerroom was toxic.
100% THIS! Some guys (no matter the talent (star) level hurt the camaraderie. Star ratings don’t include a “heart” measurement.

You're about to get blocked dude.

You don't like when someone tells you something that is informational if it's contrary to what YOU WANT to believe. You just decide to side step facts at your leisure, just for the sake of keeping the argument going. Grow tf up!

I prove time and time again that you know far less than me when it comes to football. That annoys you so you call me ignorant in an attempted reverse Uno!

You sat there and argued with me about Martinez and player development. In which I DESCRIBED HOW he made Jackson and Taylor into NFL DB's. So you're really going to try and say that I think UT players can never improve?
No THATS YOU. Because you don't understand what you're looking at, EVER.

You're a child watching cartoons not retaining any information.
Post after post of nothing. You ask questions with OBVIOUS answers.
You waste your life everyday, arguing because you don't understand ANYTHING that goes on around you in the world.

You know football and nobody else does. The ignore button is there for a reason kid. Use it if you feel you need to.

I knew the minute we brought him in that the coaches didn’t really want him. They were just using him to turn our freshmen rbs into higher caliber performers. They saw more competition and shined, just what the coaches were planning.

If what you say is true then Heupel needs to get rid of Jerry Mack. If the only way to turn our RBs into higher caliber performers is to bring in someone else, then Mack isn’t doing his job.

Just for clarification, what was the sequence at RB in1985 when we ended up with one year wonder track star Jeff Powell in the bowl behind that Dickey kid? I see 5 names I am familiar with and 4 played the previous year, but cannot remember where the depth chart started. Don't think Miller was up the chart, the rest???? Davis stepped in at Johnnie Jones spot. He is right up there with Webb in my OH heck, what could have been at RB list.

Keith Davis* RB 141 Att, 684 Yds, 4.9 Avg
William Howard* RB 53 Att, 159 Yds, 3.0 Avg
Pete Panuska RB 39 Att, 182 Yds, 4.7 Avg
Jeff Powell RB 55 Att, 235 Yds, 4.3 Avg
Sam Henderson RB 53 Att, 175 Yds, 3.3 Avg
Charles Wilson RB 33 Att, 119 Yds, 3.6 Avg
Jim Miller RB 5 Att, 25 Yds, 5.0 Avg

Keith used to work for me, great guy! Told me I could run through the T with him, but “you got to promise me you won’t trip!”

Lol

Howard and Henderson were Fullbacks, but in that offense, the Fullbacks got some carries. Davis was the primary Tailback (and a true freshman). I think Wilson was the #2 TB and Powell the #3. Davis was injured for the Sugar Bowl, so those two were the Tailbacks for that game. I remember Panuska more as a returner, but don’t really remember him getting meaningful carries at RB. Don’t remember Miller.
