Eddie Smith plays cornerback in Slidell, La., and he’s trending toward Tennessee. He was on campus last weekend and it went well. Alabama is starting to pursue Smith, but I think he’s a Tennessee lean right now.

How hard we push will be determined after this weekend. Campbell and Surtain both visiting this weekend. Campbell sounds like all UGA and Surtain seems to be headed to LSU but some are saying that may have changed this week. If we miss on both this weekend I think we put the full court press on both ITS and Smith the following weekend.

I hope we get Smith, as I said before, we cannot afford to miss on secondary players. But regardless, with everything that played out at Tennessee it is fantastic that we are still battling Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, etc for recruits. I think it speaks volumes of the new staff.

We seem to be making up a lot of ground with Surtain especially with the father. He is coming in with whole family including grandmother this weekend.
